I'm talking about how this man continues to make seven mistakes in a six-word sentence. Every. Single. Day. That's the clown part that gives me valid reasons to never take him seriously. He never says what he means unless he's wrong, then he doubles down on his wrongness.StCapps wrote: You are inflating the importance of political rhetoric just because you don't like this particular brand of it.

Have I mentioned that I'm a naïve optimist, and that I follow through and expect other people to?StCapps wrote:Just because he wasn't a politician before he ran doesn't mean he wasn't going to become one when he won the election. Not really, you're just a hater looking to twist his every word into further confirmation that you were right about Trump all along. Confirmation bias, all politicians lie, you just don't like his tone, and you are trying to turn that into a capital crime because you don't have enough good criticisms of actions.Kath wrote:I'm talking about how this man continues to make seven mistakes in a six-word sentence. Actions speak louder than words. You are trying to tell me that words speak louder than actions in the case of Trump, and I'm not buying it.

Not sure why you would include politicians who tell you what you want to hear among those you expect to follow through. That's a path to constant disappointment at every turn.Martin Hash wrote:Have I mentioned that I'm a naïve optimist, and that I follow through and expect other people to?StCapps wrote:Just because he wasn't a politician before he ran doesn't mean he wasn't going to become one when he won the election. I used to have a guy working for me, became a lifelong friend actually, who lived in a trench in the ground in New Mexico. He had a computer running off a car battery. He'd take his computer into town occasionally to buy another bag of rice and to get on the Internet. His brother had a trench less than a mile away. He lived like that for years. Now's he's the IT guy at a commune. Has a 30-yo French girlfriend.Hastur wrote:He was pretty good at diagnosis. When it came to cure he wasn't as creative. Not being a politician before running for political office is no guarantee that they won't act like a politician once in office, especially if they are seek re-election.
It's just the way of the world, and I don't see that changing anytime in the foreseeable future.
