Flynn was fired after he was hired because of the bad press. Not so much because he was working with Turkey and has ties to Russia. No, it was because of the bad press and then they said that he lied to Mike Pence and this story contradicts that story, btw.

I have a question. Supposing it was possible that Russia aided Trump or some of his staff in previous times, what exactly is the issue here? Is the issue it's simply Russia? I mean we have stories circulating that the queen was whoring out her intellegince to put together a piss dossier. China has been a long time ally of the clintons as well. I just want to know if the issue is foreign involvement or Russia, with people that lap this stuff up.

I mean, he was only Director of the DIA for Christ's sake. But I guess it didn't matter...until he started working for Trump.

So, you are saying that both Trump and Obama are to blame for Flynn getting security clearance then? I mean the Obama Administration did fire his ass a few years prior to the election but then again, the article states that Trump's very own people knew that Flynn had ties to Turkey and Russia. That is the story here- that Trump knew and didn't really care either way but wanted Flynn on his team/cabinet.

All I am saying is that the DIA would be expected to have a lot more ability to vet someone for holding its directorship position than a private political campaign hiring someone for an advisor. Like, for example, access to the power of the FBI. If I were running a campaign and were contemplating hiring an advisor, and that person happened to be the former director of the DIA, I could legitimately assume that a shitpile of vetting has already been done on this person.
