The only reason you want to pretend two different things are the same thing, is an attempt to give to credit to both shows for the work done on the other show. I see no reason why you can't give both shows credit for their own achievements, without pretending they are the same thing. Having the same hosts talking about the same topic, that doesn't make it the same show. You can give credit to the hosts for being a part of both shows, but you cannot give both shows credit for the work of the hosts on the other show. See how that works? You are trying to make both shows seem better than they are by fusing them into a single show, and that's cheating.
Breaking Bad doesn't score any extra bonus points over The Wire or The Sopranos, because of Better Call Saul exists and is an awesome show in it's own right, that's not the way that it works. Breaking Bad is evaluated on it's own merits, and the same goes for Better Call Saul, no need to pretend it's all one tv show, that's just silly.
