Yeah, gotta love Hickock.
That little truglo holographic site he has is about the best buy a guy can get for sites. Has it's limitations, but great for short range. I have one and love it. You can pick that thing up for $50 American. Has 4 reticle choices and it can be used in combination with conventional sites.

It's a good round for infil/exfil, fully supressed, like if you have to take out a sentry or a roving patrol, very close in, and you need to be absolutely quiet with no report at all. Even fully supressed, if you use a nine, in the dead quiet of the woods at night, it's gonna make a pretty loud *pap* compared to the .22, which is basically just a *click* instead. With the .22, you could shoot the trailer in the head, at extreme CQ, and the lead wouldn't even notice until it was too late; *click* "Hunh? what was..." *click*. You need a couple extra seconds to take that second shot, the *click* gives you the time and space you need to get them both clean. With a *pap*, that second guy may just turn and open fire, at which point, even if you get him, you're compromised and so fucked anyways.

It's 10/22 .... Happy Ruger Day! I think I'll shoot all my Rugers today.

I'll have to pack a lunch and couple of snacks, though. It's gonna take a while.

I'm one of the few 'gun guys' I've ever been around that does not have a 10/22. But I do love the gun, just haven't gotten around to getting one.

Better stock up on black powder though. We had a guy in the VFW who had one, and would fire it at HS football games. The team was pretty good that year and he went broke on black powder for every touchdown.

Make your own powder.
