My point is that this is a shell game - just as Smitty said. It's a PR stunt, and may well shove our paper-tiger economy right into the firepit.TheReal_ND wrote:Not following the logic here...
Did I get that right commie cat face?the tax system is a con game so make them all pay more
You can rest assured that, no matter what it looks like, it will include new and creative ways to fuck you.

And this is why you oppose slashing corporate taxes? Is it your contention they will just fuck us instead? Could be something to that but we are already getting fucked.

Why would we need to "slash" something that they don't pay anyway? Who benefits?TheReal_ND wrote:And this is why you oppose slashing corporate taxes? Is it your contention they will just fuck us instead? Could be something to that but we are already getting fucked.

Oh, right.
The 15 percent rate would apply both to corporations, which now pay 35 percent, and to a broad range of firms known as pass-through entities — including hedge funds, real estate concerns like Mr. Trump’s and large partnerships — that currently pay taxes at individual rates, which top off at 39.6 percent.

And small business? Who cares about hedge funds? I'd have one too if I was rich. Damn sure wouldn't pay a dime in taxes for you pack of Mexicans to go get cancer with.

Congress, barnacled by entrenched interests at the trough, is simply not going to cut spending in any meaningful way, so lowering the corporate tax rate will have no effect, because they'll have to raise the taxes somewhere else to make up the difference, Trump's idea is to tax all energy imports to the US, but that would make energy more expensive, negating any positive effects from cutting the corporate tax rate, you're not going to get a bump, because where there is a lessening of extraction over here, there is a tightening of extraction over there, and so it just cancels itself out.

So we're in agreement that corporations should pay no taxes, but must pass all their profits to the owners who then pay progressive taxes based on their income. That way, low income earners are NOT subsidizing the taxes of high income earners.StCapps wrote:Are you responding without reading my posts? Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
Small corporations competing with the big corporations benefit from cutting corporate taxes and it will make it easier for them to compete with bigger corporations. They get to pay less in comparison to their competition than they used to, which levels the playing field. Grumpycatface will ignore this post so he can pretend a corporate tax cut does nothing but help big corporations.

Everybody uses energy, so the tactic is once again for everyone else to subsidize The Rich.Smitty-48 wrote:Congress, barnacled by entrenched interests at the trough, is simply not going to cut spending in any meaningful way, so lowering the corporate tax rate will have no effect, because they'll have to raise the taxes somewhere else to make up the difference, Trump's idea is to tax all energy imports to the US, but that would make energy more expensive, negating any positive effects from cutting the corporate tax rate, you're not going to get a bump, because where there is a lessening of extraction over here, there is a tightening of extraction over there, and so it just cancels itself out.
