Most are in Washington or California. I think Bigelow is still in Nevada, though, which is a decent place to live. Most of the government subcontractors are still around the Space Coast or Texas, but that stuff is dying out unless Trump saves it. The second space program run by the USAF is probably mostly contracted by Boeing (Washington and California).

The people I knew in places like United Space Alliance, Raytheon, etc., lived demoralized lives. I have to say. You have to thrive on your passion for space exploration because that industry is fucking brutal.

The defense and intelligence contracting side of things is pretty comfy. You might like it there.

If El Paso doesn't have enough green for my liking, I definitely don't need to go to Mars. I'd like to be on the terraforming project. Pummeling Mars with asteroids to reignite the core, and get the greenhouse effect started.

Yeah, that's an important distinction to make. Certain fields still need degrees, but the ABET accreditation process is in need of an overhaul, in my opinion.

Re: SpaceX, they never seem to need my particular discipline. I'd love to get in on that action, but no luck thus far. Of course, as if to taunt me, Tesla sends me unsolicited interview offers every now and then.

Cool shit. A fellow student is studying materials science.

My major is mechanical. I'm a math tutor on campus as well. Primarily the cal II students right now. My boss pointed out that learning it is one thing, teaching it is another. Says I'll be an expert by the end of the semester.

It was steam engines that set me down this path,
