A lot of us have billable hours, or are expected to be on call for long periods of time, or simply are expected to do more than can be done in a 40 hour week. If I get more efficient and do my work faster, I’ll be given more to do because we bill for my work.
Leftist always got some excuse for being lazy asses.
“
But if I do my job well people will expect that from me all the time!!!”
Now where did I put those bonbons.... must remember to make manicure appointment ... time for a nap.
I’m my own personal slavedriver, unfortunately. I will continue to make money for my company until the bitter end.

Face time doesn’t count at your job?
I don't need to work 60 hours a week to get face time. I work in IT. To most of us face time just means less time spent getting actual work done. That doesn't mean I hide in corner all day. I have enough meeting and conference calls with others, it's just that I don't waste time chatting.
In some fields face time and networking with others is more important. That's why I chose IT. I feel more satisfaction with the work I do than if I spent 8 hours a day in meetings and then came back to my office not able to figure out how to send a document to the printer.
Dude my printer has been a fuck all morning, got some sort of forced update and now it refuses to scan documents across the network.
I fucking hate non-consensual updates to my electronics.

That is why I don't have one of those jobs. I am on call from time to time and have to work from home at night or on a weekend in certain cases. Once 50+ hours becomes the norm and not the exception I look for another job. I'm on salary, so I don't get overtime and I've never been at a place that adjusted my salary based on working 50+ hours a week.
The billable hours situation you described sounds like how hourly union workers work. They don't want to work efficiently because then that will be expected plus they lose the overtime. So they drag their feet to get the benefit of an easier day plus overtime pay. The unions protect them, so they get away with it.

If you spend 8 hours a day in meetings, that’s your secretary’s job.

Most of them pursue men for respurces rather than love, which is why most women marry men who eaen more than them. . . Women do not marry for love. If women married for love, you'd not see the vast majority of women married to men who make more than themselves.

A man becomes disabled and his wife leaves him because he no longer makes enough mpney to support her. He is disabled and living on a fixed income. She still can pursue a career. Not only does the man get no alimony, they steal half his disability check to give to the woman.

Men carry this out because (1) most of them are blue-pilled as fucked in America and (2) most of them are emotionally invested in being the saviors of womenkind (white knights).
.. now he'll say "That's not the whole post", because I didn't quote three separate posts in their entirety when the rest of the post was irrelevant to the "arguments".
Like I said, there is no rational argument to be had with the emotionally traumatized.

okay. Now respond to those arguments if you think they are false.

That’s outside of my experience. We get paid by the job, so the more quickly I work the more money we make. Husband has a budget, which inevitably goes up every year. The harder he works, the more money he makes (it correlates to the amount of time he works, although not directly).

That's why, as a long term IT guy from even back to mini/mainframe days, I set things up to *never* auto-apply updates. Notify me, and I'll choose when or if to update. Been burned before (my favorite was the minicomputer OS update that made disk structure changes so they recommended you run the disk checker after, which promptly corrupted every disk it touched). I deliberately looked for a dumb terminal program on my tablet that wanted minimal permissions... The update notice keeps popping up, I looked at it - WTF does a dumb terminal app need with the camera, microphone, and gps?!? Sorry, no...time to look for a new terminal app.
That crap just pisses me off.

You think that pisses you off, wait till hackers worldwide discover that you don’t update shit and are susceptible to every vulnerability exploited over the last dozen years.

Pfft. I apply updates, after reading up/researching them. I'm just not so blindly trusting to allow my stuff to be updated on the fly without my knowledge/permission.
Just wait until Windows 11 comes along, and Microsoft automatically updated your machine to it - even though it's underpowered to run it and they dropped support for your video card. Right before your taxes are due too. You'll wish it was just hackers.
