MacKinnon questionable to play Sunday against the Oilers, he'll be back fairly soon even if he misses a few more games, thank the hockey gods.

Yeah, shoulder separation, that's bad ju-ju, you can't relax about it unless and until you see him back in game action taking contact again.StCapps wrote:MacKinnon questionable to play Sunday against the Oilers, he'll be back fairly soon even if he misses a few more games, thank the hockey gods.

He ditched the non-contact jersey today at practice, still worried until I see Super Saiyan MacKinnon return to form consistently once he comes back, but the fact that it's not going to be the full four weeks, barring a set back, that is encouraging.Smitty-48 wrote:Yeah, shoulder separation, that's bad ju-ju, you can't relax about it unless and until you see him back in game action taking contact again.StCapps wrote:MacKinnon questionable to play Sunday against the Oilers, he'll be back fairly soon even if he misses a few more games, thank the hockey gods.

The double edged sword of the big horse down the middle, when you don't have one, all is dark, but once you get one, you're in the light, but the price is constant worry, it's like when that dirty little Jake Dotchkin kneed muh Auston last year, career ender shot, I went into heart palpitations, that was fuckin' scary.

I'd actually trade for Jake Dotchin, the only way to be safe from him, is to have him on your team.

Leafs trade Soshnikov for a 2019 fourth round pick from the Blues.

Reasonable return, need to dump some contracts, Sosh has been a good soldier but there's no room for him on this team, let him go where he has a shot at playing.StCapps wrote:Leafs trade Soshnikov for a 2019 fourth round pick from the Blues.
Could be a harbinger of more to come, or could just be solving the Soshnikov problem to get an asset for him, lest he went back to the KHL.

Avs should trade Comeau for a draft pick too, better than letting him go for nothing. Would be nice to get something for Yakupov and/or Nieto too, if we can.
Fuck being buyers at the trade deadline, please tell me Sakic has learned his lesson on this one. If not, how many times are you going to put your hand on the stove that keeps burning you, Joe?

Depends what you're buying and what the asking price is, I mean, these loser teams will come on strong demanding the moon, but if you're a good team, you don't have to give them shit, just wait them out, last minute at the deadline, that price is gonna drop.
Like I said before, I'm with Babs, I would like the Leafs to be heavier, particularly down the middle, don't need a high flying top six scorer, we got plenty of that, but somebody like a Luke Glendening from the Wings, heavy center/winger, takes face offs, kills penalties, big game experience, that's the sort of player I would be targeting, if the price is reasonable, if the price is not reasonable, whatever, just move with what we got.

Re: hockey spam containment thread
The Leafs being buyers at the trade deadline makes a lot more sense than it does for the Avs.
