Presumably this was an attempt at humour equating Muslim migration to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. What does 2.0 have to do with WWI?

The Austro-Hungarian Empire was the premier multicultural state of the late-19th century and early 20th century. It didn't work out. Sectarian violence bubbled over and eventually exploded when the Archduke Ferdinand was assassinated by ethnic Serbians. The fallout from that Multicult experiment directly led to World War 1, which in turn led to World War 2, so I don't think you really have any grounds to "compare body counts".

This idea doesn't work. The Austro-Hungarian Empire looked fucking great on paper. It should have been the most powerful empire in Europe. But they couldn't keep the sectarian conflict from ripping it apart.

I'm not surprised to things break down again on religious or cultural lines.

Can't see it happening in the USA, but the European Union devolving to a European Confederation seems very plausible and in fact in progress, otherwise known as Germania or Bust.

The European Union is a de facto federation of independent states, no matter what the Brussel bureaucrats hallucinate.

I think the real threat to the European Union are the federalists themselves as they have put the union to the path of breakup as they still don't understand why Brexit happened. The federalist Project will fail. Stating the obvious, that it is a collection of independent states and the idea of creating an European United States is whimsical stupidity, would be a start.

More of an Upper Canadian thing, has never really caught on out West nor in the Maritimes, is actually rejected out of hand in Quebec, and of course does not apply in the First Nations ethno states.

Toronto dominates the Canadian mediasphere, so foreigners tend to get an overly Torontocentric view of the Canadian paradigm.

Go to where my family is from in Nova Scotia, and there's no multiculturalism, it's not just a de facto white ethno state, they don't even like Catholics.
