In cash games it's 5% of every pot. In tournaments it's a one off addition of around 10% to your buy in. It actually made me realise how much I have been paying in cash games. The 20k buy in to a play money tourney includes 3k rake so only 17k goes into the prize pool. Would have meant we only paid 12k between us but we wouldn't have got 3 hrs play.
