Interest group, HuffPo, NYT, and Women's Health become reliable sources, when the topic favors your argument. Interesting.
What was your source? Your dirty dick? Just as a point of stats this is suspect. One marriage lasting 50 years is one data point vs a bunch of Hollywood marriages being a bunch of data points. First time marriages between both partners works out pretty while those that get divorced ones are more likely to get divorced again.
Yeah, breaking it up by age group is pretty ridiculous. It should be a measure of all marriages period. But hey, either way.

People get divorced a LOT in this country, so saying that it's the 'best path to security and happiness' is pretty damned silly.

No sources. No data. Just shit he's pulling out of his ass with nothing to back it up. Same shit, different day.

Did you read any of the articles. The one I read had good explanations for the drop. When women started demanding equality in the 70's, and with birth control now available, women were more free to chart their own course. This led many women to divorcing because they were unhappy.

The divorce trend started going down because now people were choosing to marry for love, rather than by choosing a good provider/good homemaker. People are now waiting to marry, and co-habitation before marriage is helping people make better decisions. Break ups are still happening, but they are simply not living together anymore, rather than having to go through a divorce.

Who knew that living with someone for awhile could help in determining if you could spend your life with someone.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Tune in next week when GCF tells us that exercise and good diet isn’t the best path to staying healthy because “people get fat A LOT in this country.”

Who would have guessed that when you give women the right to handle their own money and generally make their own decisions, they'd actually go out and do just that!

We developed new problems from all this stuff too, that we don't seem to have answers to.
- We have today is we have a lot of kids being raised without both their parents. All the data shows that is bad for the kids.
-Men have little to no reproductive rights. If a man and a woman are in a relationship and the woman gets pregnant she can terminate that child without even telling him. She can leave and have the child and never tell him.
-Men and Women are not treated equally under the law in most states when it comes to legally disolving relationships and dealing with parenting.
-This stuff has created a lot of angry men and women out there

Agree. I think that was the argument against enfranchisement at the time.

I took a "Women in History" course in college as a required elective. At the time I couldn't understand the arguments men in the past used against women's suffrage; it seemed archaic and unfair. It's interesting, now that I'm a world-weary & wise adult, that I finally understand their point.

The problem is that women tend to make really bad decisions both individually and generally, and they are naturally combative so trying to point that out to them results in even more bad decisions on their part.

So do men. Testosterone isn't a mental superpower.
