Apparently security guards in Nevada need to be registered with the Nevada Private Investigator's Licensing Board. Reposting source and will follow up with screenshots of results. There is a Larry Jesus Campos, but he is registered in the city of Fontana, not Las Vegas. There is no registered security guard with the first name Jesus and the last name of Campos.
However, they don't seem to list anything about certification at any location for their open security positions.
The break-in occurred through the front door, said Officer Tim Broadway of the Reno Police Department. Detectives do not yet know the number of suspects involved.
They also were not aware of anything taken or any damage, he said. The FBI, which was notified immediately, and Reno police are working to make sure no further incidents occur.
The break-in immediately precedes the following investigation course:
In a Monday news conference, Lombardo confirmed that FBI and behavioral analysis agents were revisiting Paddock’s properties including his Reno home.
"Is the FBI along with LVMPD revisiting the personal property of the suspect? Yes, that is accurate along with the behavioral analysis detectives,” Lombardo said answering a reporter’s question. “They are also present and maybe we can discern additional evidence as a result of that revisit.”
I wonder if we'll ever know what the fuck is going on here.
I also saw a report that there was no Jose Campos in the Mandalay Bay Human Resources list as of yesterday. Was he there prior to yesterday ? Was he scrubbed ? Why would the hotel scrub and remove the 'Hero Security Guard ' ?
Internet Sleuths are all over this, it's crazy what they are turning up. Is it accurate, hard to say.

NBC is reporting that a maintenance worker said Wednesday he told hotel dispatchers to call police and report a gunman had opened fire with a rifle inside Mandalay Bay before Paddock began firing on the Harvest country music festival below.
Worker Stephen Schuck told NBC News that he was checking out a report of a jammed fire door on the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay when he heard Paddock shoot security guard Jesus Campos in the leg. After the shooting, Campos peeked out from an alcove and told Schuck to take cover.
“As soon as I started to go to a door to my left the rounds started coming down the hallway,” Schuck said. “I could feel them pass right behind my head. “It was kind of relentless so I called over the radio what was going on,” he said.
“As soon as the shooting stopped we made our way down the hallway and took cover again and then the shooting started again.”
