Ads which were targeted to people are already predisposed to believe them anyway. Oh how sad this has all gotten.
Lol.

How many times has the Russia thing been debunked for you already? Last year people here were declaring this over.

And get the fact rights, clubgop, at no time was anybody saying that the Russians did voter fraud or ballot rigging.

Don't you remember the time when you guys were so sure it definately wasn't Russia, it was the 400 pound guy or Seth Rich, who apparently hacked peoples emails after his death (small detailed that didn't bother people here). I was saying that the Russians had a broad intel operation underway, starting from their own media (which isn't praising Trump anymore), the hackings and maneuvers in the social media. But for people here it was Seth Rich. Seems that people here didn't even read the actual findings of the intel community as it wasn't just about the DNC hackings.

Anyhow, we are already looking at the actual meetings with the Russians by the Trump team, so it ain't over yet.
Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut said on Monday that Michael Flynn and Paul Manafort, President Donald Trump’s former top advisers, are “almost sure” to face criminal charges due to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Blumenthal, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told Politico that Flynn and Manafort are likely to be indicted. “I’m about 99 percent sure there will be some criminal charges from this investigation,” he said.
If all this comes to just one big case of obstruction of justice, then I'll change my views on this. But if things like money-laundering and money changing hands with the Russians and the Trump team come up, it then looks to be as bad as imagined.

There is no definitive proof of where that came from? But what does that matter? If it came from the Russians we are supposed to ignore what it revealed? Why does the DNC get off scot free on all this? Double standard right there. DNC steals and rigs thier own primary but we have to stop everything because Russia bought some ads on Facebook.

Be prepared to be disappointed. This is sore loser bitches being sore loser bitches. Someone is going down but it won't be who you want and Russia will barely have anything to do with it if at all. Putin or his Intel ops will be no worse for the wear but democrats will have a talking point. A paired down talking point not worth the resources they expended on the project but a talking point none the less.

Does anyone not believe what this sitting congressman is saying?

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) told The Daily Caller that Trump is being blocked from knowing about the potential deal with Assange. “I think the president’s answer indicates that there is a wall around him that is being created by people who do not want to expose this fraud that there was collusion between our intelligence community and the leaders of the Democratic Party,” Rohrabacher said.

Rohrabacher called the collusion narrative "a massive propaganda campaign" and "historic con job" meant to conceal the ideological conspiracy between the intelligence community and the Democrat party.

Glenn Greenwald: Yet Another Major Russia Story Falls Apart. Is Skepticism Permissible Yet?
https://theintercept.com/2017/09/28/yet ... sible-yet/

Last friday, most major media outlets touted a major story about Russian attempts to hack into U.S. voting systems, based exclusively on claims made by the Department of Homeland Security. “Russians attempted to hack elections systems in 21 states in the run-up to last year’s presidential election, officials said Friday,” began the USA Today story, similar to how most other outlets presented this extraordinary claim.

So what was wrong with this story? Just one small thing: it was false. The story began to fall apart yesterday when Associated Press reported that Wisconsin – one of the states included in the original report that, for obvious reasons, caused the most excitement – did not, in fact, have its election systems targeted by Russian hackers.
...
Sometimes stories end up debunked. There’s nothing particularly shocking about that. If this were an isolated incident, one could chalk it up to basic human error that has no broader meaning.

But this is no isolated incident. Quite the contrary: this has happened over and over and over again. Inflammatory claims about Russia get mindlessly hyped by media outlets, almost always based on nothing more than evidence-free claims from government officials, only to collapse under the slightest scrutiny, because they are entirely lacking in evidence.
...
Remember that time the Washington Post claimed that Russia had hacked the U.S. electricity grid, causing politicians to denounce Putin for trying to deny heat to Americans in winter, only to have to issue multiple retractions because none of that ever happened? Or the time that the Post had to publish a massive editor’s note after its reporters made claims about Russian infiltration of the internet and spreading of “Fake News” based on an anonymous group’s McCarthyite blacklist that counted sites like the Drudge Report and various left-wing outlets as Kremlin agents?
Or that time when Slate claimed that Trump had created a secret server with a Russian bank, all based on evidence that every other media outlet which looked at it were too embarrassed to get near? Or the time the Guardian was forced to retract its report by Ben Jacobs – which went viral – that casually asserted that WikiLeaks has a long relationship with the Kremlin? Or the time that Fortune retracted suggestions that RT had hacked into and taken over C-SPAN’s network? And then there’s the huge market that was created – led by leading Democrats – that blindly ingested every conspiratorial, unhinged claim about Russia churned out by an army of crazed conspiracists such as Louise Mensch and Claude “TrueFactsStated” Taylor?

And now we have the Russia-hacked-the-voting-systems-of-21-states to add to this trash heap. Each time the stories go viral; each time they further shape the narrative; each time those who spread them say little to nothing when it is debunked.
He's right, I had forgotten about many of these bombshell reports that were later retracted

It wouldn't be hard to crank out a Common Sense episode on this topic...

Dan would disagree. :snicker:

Seriously though, who is the media accountable to anymore? The only thing that will get you pinched these days in the news world is sexual harassment or bullshitting about "I WAS THERE" (a la Brian Williams). Otherwise, the networks can crank out nothingburgers like McDonalds and the machine will just keep chugging along.

I've seen these reports. I've been undecided.
I've read that when Kelly took over in the Whitehouse, he basically restricted access to the POTUS and strongly censured what information was getting to him. An indication this is a real thing would be the endorsement of Strange over Moore. Looking at the candidates, Strange was a Swamp Creature, very much like the guy who lost earlier in the year in Georgia. I've also read that Trump roasted his Staff for convincing him to support Strange.

Rohrabacher has been working hard to break this entire Russian Spying thing wide open by showing it wasn't Russian spying, but concerned Democrats that leaked to Assange.

I hope Rohrabacher is successful.

Wut do if it is proven that the CIA and Democratic Party are colluding in the promotion of a false narrative??

IMO, if such collusion is undeniably confirmed, a mass protest to drain the swamp comparable to the Bonus Army should be led on DC and the CIA should be disbanded.

Complete horseshit. They're still pushing it.

Well actually, you can see some of them are ratcheting down to "meddling," that is one step above "never mind, we got shit."
