On the Russian side it seems we are well beyond half measures already...

Except the Russians heart doesn't seem in it.

That is the half measure.

If you don't really have the military or the populace on board...

Then you have a problem with implementation.

Cutting cables and mining straights isn't going to help that much.

If the warriors are half hearted... and even a few top generals are looking for opportunities to take you out... and replace you...

This is where Putin looks weak.... don't know if that's a mainstream narrative wishful thinking... or a truth leaking out.... despite Russia's best efforts to control the narrative within its media fortress.

So women in the State Dept can brag about electing all their people into parliament, or killing Gaddafi. Maybe invade to get rid of Saddam?

good grief no

if NATO is going to stand, NATO should go big

mobilize for war

either force Putin to back down

or just back away

don't mission creep to the brink

Uh... no...

That would be the dumbest move of them all.

Shooting ourselves in the foot, when it looks like Putin may have already shot himself in his.

That's exactly what has happened.
Russia is looking like a big Army and commanders that don't know how to conduct a war. A nation that hasn't fought a war in over a generation. They should have rolled through Ukraine by now, their bumbling is shocking, and the Ukrainian defense looks heroic and brilliant.

Reports logistics are a mess, Russian troops scavenging for fuel. Units black on food, water, ammunition. Individual tanks and BTRs wandering around lost. Russia sending forces in piece meal, small units forward, with unknown intent, and little effectiveness. Overall, it appears the Russians have committed one of the biggest sins in warfare, they were not logistically prepared to fight this war. Or expected it to be over in 72 hours and had no logistical contingency backing up operations.

Ukraine has decided to seed the countryside and fight in the cities. Russians seem fixed on taking airports as their primary early goal, and it's taking time. They continue helo air assault ops to take these airports.

It's time to ask if Putin has surrounded himself with incapable sycophants instead of merit based leaders.

exactly

they tried to do this as economy of force

now it is spiraling into a vortex

the only way they can subdue Ukraine now ?

they have to go at NATO itself, go after the source, to force a resolution
