So ... if everyone is so sure that these punks jumped these two ladies for being lesbian and beat the stuffing out of them ... why were charges dropped on one teen, two teens simply charged with handling property, and no hate crime charges whatsoever?

A lot of indicators here of a full story *not* being told. If everything is as being reported, should be a slam dunk for four charges of assault/battery and hate crime, no? Yet ... looks like maybe one assault charge tops, no hate crime. No one else finds any of this kinda strange, eh?

So that would end it pretty much, eh? Four teens beat two lesbian women for being lesbian.

But wait.

But District Judge Susan Williams stopped short of calling the attack a hate crime — though she does believe the pair was targeted because of their sexual orientation, according to the Sun.

So here we are again, presented a cut-and-dried story of four horrible homophobic kids beating lesbians bloody for the mere offense of being lesbian .... and zero convictions for beating anyone, or attacking anyone for being a lesbian.

Yet - the media has gone out of it's way to make sure the story presents a unified narrative ... while the legal system seems not to back up that version of events at all.

Is it possible these kids were being shitty, and the women physically confronted them and initiated the violence - resulting in the ass beating?
I don't know.
But that would make the pieces fit together. That would explain the teens pleading guilty for threats and harassment, followed by the absolute lack of any assault convictions, and the lack of a hate crime conviction.

Is that what happened here?

We'll never know. All we'll know is the media is pretty sure two lesbians were attacked by a mob of homophobic teens. They'll count on no one ever looking at how that story ultimately played out, or questioning their framing of the event. And for the most part, they're right, people will just eat their version of the story up without question.
