If those people gave a fuck about lives they would be protesting the 9 people who die every fucking day from texting and driving.

It's about control, and their own irrational fear.

Almost everyone has a cell phone and drives, so, since they are currently alive, it is easy for them to dismiss the dangers.

Probably explains why people who own and regularly operate fire arms don't view them as inherently dangerous.
HAIL!

Her needs America so they won't just take his shit away like in some pussy non gun totting countries can happen.

Whether or not they are dangerous is besides the point.

Oh man, this is turning around fast. The gun grabbers are getting blown up. The FBI failed, local law enforcement failed before and during the attack, yet they have the audacity to attack the NRA and million of legal gun owners that had nothing to do with it. The backlash is happening.

no reason to own a handgun? do any of you silly gun grabbers consider those living in rural areas with no way to defend themselves and their home but with a gun?

gun rights are human rights

To be honest, if there were a type of firearm that should be getting more attention than so called "assault rifles", it's handguns. Since they're the most represented on homicide and suicide statistics.

It would make much more sense if the people in favor of gun control, spent their resources on handgun restrictions.

For defending your home, a rifle or a shotgun works just as well, if not better than a handgun. And rifles and shotguns aren't as popular among criminals, since they're hard to carry concealed. To carry a handgun concealed legally in the public in most states, you need a permit anyway, so it would make sense to regulate handgun purchases for concealed carry permit holders anyway.

I'm not supporting it, or saying this is the way to go. But it would make sense from a gun control perspective. Rather than target the types of firearms with the lowest murder rates.

Should be clear why handguns hold more popularity than shotguns: The NRA may lobby government, but the secretly very powerful house cleaner lobby lobbies the NRA... ;)

Trouble with guns is they last too long. Buy one and leave it in a drawer for 30 years and with a bit of cleaning it will still work properly. Even used regularly it will last a long time with proper maintenance. What the gun industry needs is gimicky guns like the AR 15 which serve no real purpose but sell like hot cakes. Added to that you need to perpetuate the fear that gun grabbers are going to take them away from you which ensures a rush to the gun shops every time the gun control narrative comes around after yet another mass shooting.
What the gun industry is relying on now is camoflage wearing wannabe heros running around in the woods playing out their little shit hits the fan prepper fantasies.
This is why taking military style, pointless yet popular ''assault'' rifles is going to be a long battle. You're not fighting the gun addicts you are fighting their ever more desparate dealers.
In the meantime you now have millions of unregistered crowd killing rifles in circulation that any crack pot Rambo can use with a minimum of practice to go on a depression fuelled mass murder suicide rampage.
Nice job guys.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
