Of all the crowd shots during the anthem I only saw 1 small group of fans linking arms. The other 99% had hands on hearts. Hopefully those images sink in to the NFL players, coaches, management and PR reps. We are your customers. You want to play SJW, do it outside of your workplace. The only reason any of you have such "privileged" positions is because of us.

I don't care about linking arms. That's not disrespectful, really. It's poor form to use the anthem to make a protest statement in general, but at least it's not doing exactly what you are not supposed to do.

Actuyally, you're the one hyperventilating like an over-emotional child and screaming about prison, which ain't gonna happen. You know what else "calls for the destruction of the nation"? Phrases like "The South Will Rise Again", or "My Only President Is Jefferson Davis". You think a cadet is going to prison for writing that in their hat? Of course not, because it doesn't trigger your childlike feelers.Okeefenokee wrote:That's enemy subversion. Communism will win means capitalism will fall. It means the west will fall. Get a grip, stop freaking out, at your age you should have a little better emotional control of yourself.
I don't care if they chapter this creep out of the military, I'm just saying (as any rational adult can see) it's going to be a hard sell over voicing a political opinion while in uniform.

It's not going to be the statements alone that get him in deeper trouble, it's his associations. Have you checked out the Democrat Socialists Veterans site ? https://twitter.com/dsaveterans?lang=enDBTrek wrote:Actuyally, you're the one hyperventilating like an over-emotional child and screaming about prison, which ain't gonna happen. This is the headline image
I see on there twitter some black Staff Sergeant posted a pic of himself on that website holding one fist up.
You may remember back in the 80s when the guys that really ran the US Army in Germany were Black, former Drill Sergeant, Masons who were Sr NCOs. Those guys starting in the 70s kind of became the Army within the Army in Europe. They ran smuggling rings and all kinds of crazy stuff. The Army eventually cleaned it up and broke up all those associations in the late 80s and early 90s.

Sure, if the guy belongs to a subversive cell or is engaged in other illegal activity THEN maybe prison and a dishonorable discharge will be in order.
But it's not illegal to be communist in the US Army, so at this point the kid is only guilty of violating regulations. So why my fellow vets (who should know this) are talking about dishonorable discharge and prison at this stage of the investigation is a mystery.

If not for the offensive comments re: his commanders I would say a dishonorable discharge might be too heavy handed. The level of contempt he's shown and continues to show is clearly a dangerous behavior to be light-handed about. Being light handed on those girls very well may have made him think he could get away with the Che t-shirt bull shit.C-Mag wrote:Dishonorable at a Minimum!Nukedog wrote:Also, in this case, does anyone view a dishonorable discharge as being too heavy handed? I'm on the fence about it kind of tbh. I think he needs to be discharged but I feel like having a permanent black mark on his record like that may be a bit harsh. As far as I know, none of his subversive ideologies got anybody killed yet.

A line must be drawn. I'd say the same if he was sporting a swastika and talking neo-nazi nonsense.

The NFL brand has taken quite a hit over this. NFL favorability ratings down 17% in 6 days.

NFL, I'm looking out for your best interests here. If you want the fans back, you need a lot more of this.

Over time, I’ve lost interest in professional sports for many of the same reasons I’ve lost interested in the professional music, film, and other entertainment industries.
They have become thoroughly politicized by the left as part of the culture war. So for me, the lastest public fight over NFL players protesting on the sidelines is just the latest straw, and in many ways, the last straw….
The result, for me, is a withdrawal from much of professional culture.
My last refuge was the NFL. Now that is gone.
