I don't see any path to a negotiated settlement at his juncture

either Putin capitulates

or Ukraine does

or the war continues to escalate

the only Hegemon with enough influence to stop this; is China

and they are sitting on the sidelines, a de facto vetting of the invasion

in order for a negotiated settlement,

there has to be a face saving climb down position for both sides

I'm not seeing it

if Putin doesn't win, he is finished

the chance for Ukraine to capitulate to prevent destruction of the country has passed

they are all in, on both sides

what are they going to talk about ?

too late

blood is spilled now

this is not imperial policing in Syria or some shit like that

this is a total war between hated enemies right in their homelands bordering each other

The Fuck Off Soldiers that died on Snake Island were filmed surrendering to Russians.
of course the Russians use constant disinformatsya, that's s.o.p.

so no point in even entertaining Russian narratives, they only do information warfare propaganda

but I distrust all the Western media narratives for obvious reasons as well

the main Western Media Narrative right now is that Putin has already lost the war after only four days

UK government informs Russia that "cutting undersea cables is an act of war against the United Kingdom"

so the conflict continues to escalate well outside of Ukraine, unto the high seas off the UK now apparently

this is how things start to get spicy without the Russians having to put any boots on NATO territory

if NATO starts arming Ukraine heavily, which they seem like they are going to

Russia will start to interdict that flow, on the high seas : submarine warfare

the scenario the public envisions is a clear breach of Article V

Russian ground troops invade NATO territory

that's not the scenario I am invoking

my scenario is ragged start mission creep

cyberwarfare, clandestine attacks, and things escalating by way of the high seas, submarine warfare

high seas is the most critical vector

Russia doesn't have to invade Latvia

World War Three starts when somebody sinks something with a torpedo at sea
