Nah, veterans are the worst, they think because they served, somehow everybody owes them a free lunch, and even though everybody goes around bowing and scraping and thanking them for their service, all they do is whine and complain and cry about being disrepected, fuck veterans.

LOL

Like the general population is different in that regard.

They're not different, which is why they should not be hallowed as some sort of special (victim) class just because they took the Queen's Schilling,

It isn't about being hallowed. It's about the fundamental requirement of all forms of democracy that the electorate share in the risks of their votes. Otherwise you end up in empire as the thing collapses.

For the same reason I think state and local voting/serving should be limited to property owners. Otherwise the renters end up driving up other people's taxes to give them more free stuff, and you end up like Detroit.

Veteran enfranchisement at the national leel is a compromise to avert the eventual military takeover when democracy otherwise inevitably fails.

Yeah, well, I can look at countries which have universal conscription, and on the aggregate, most of them are even more dysfunctional than Canada, which is saying something, since Canada is pretty fucking dysfunctional, so "service equals better democracy"? Not buying it. Just more mindless populist drivel.

The perfectly painted, little tin soldier can't stand veterans!
O, that's rich!
The big bad cold warrior who never saw a bullet fired in anger dumps on veterans! The only raid Colonel Smitthead has ever been on is a panty raid. I thought the words "Canadian Nationalist" were the funniest things to ever fall from your fat fumbling fingers, but you've outdone yourself now!
LVL 9 twaterry achieved!

Soldier-sniffers have a total miscomprehension of the basis of America's Liberty society, probably colored by religiosity. We are only allies. As soon as it becomes better to break the alliance than to keep it, it's over, everyone get their guns. I know you're all looking forward to that but so are they. Let's rumble.

Dumping on the people who sacrificed, and died, in your service?

Thanks for remininding me why I turned my back on the pack of ungrateful children who compose the left.

It's a contractual agreement, the terms are stipulated in the contract, I can't stand that "veteran" is constantly invoked as a rubric which cannot be challenged to make ever expanding claims and anyone who invokes the terms as limited is unpatriotic, anti-military, and betraying a trust, when that is not the case.
