Ian McKellen was born for this role.

Kurosawa's Ran is King Lear.

I liked Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing.

Most attempts are just painful to behold. Redoing Shakespeare in a new way is so unoriginal and easy. Many try but only a few can pull it off. I prefer Shakespeare as close to the original as possible. Kenneth Branagh's movies stand out the most.

I mentioned West side Story. And yes I was mentioning the pain and the unoringinality. As usual some liberal bird attacked me for it.

That Richard III trailer looks very interesting. As far as adaption goes, Ran is probaby the best one. I'm not well versed on Shakespeare, but when its done right it makes for a damn fine play.

Hastur:
check out this Macbeth trailer. It stays pretty true to the original play. Fassbender Kills it.

I haven't see the Much Ado About Nothing, but the other three are pretty good. Ian McKellen's was the most enjoyable for me, although RAN was probably the best. It was like being gut punched over, and over, which make it hard to watch.

So everything must be view only through the lens of the 21th century American Republican/Democratic Parties-Conservative/Liberal Ideologies pseudo conflict, and every disagreement is a personal attack?

Arguing with mental strawmen, and caricatures, does almost nothing but hinder real conversations with actual people.

Nathan Fillion was excellent as the bumbling sheriff.

To quote parents everywhere: if your friends jump off a cliff, would you follow them?

I try, though I often fail, not to do the same stupid as my "side" even if I usually agree with them. Whoever them is at the time.

Maybe I should see it. I need something not depressing or serious right now.
