This has been one of those events that has really shown a light on people around me. There are levels of disgust I know hold for people around me that I know based on their reactions to this trial.

There are people I know who even after this trial don't want to admit he's not a murderer. The "discussions" I've had with a couple of them show they only know the media talking points and have never seen any of the full videos, just snippets the media shows. Don't even know that he was chased for putting out a garbage fire that the first Darwin award winner had set in a dumpster. They don't know people were calling for him to be "taken out" as he ran for the Police. They have no facts from the trial to attack with so they go after him by saying he just looks smug.

Just like Nick Sandmann, any display of happiness by Kyle at all in the past 1 1/2 years is now used by them as proof that he's an asshole and doesn't care about what he did. The boy uncontrollably wept on the stand. That was not an act, his mother crying was not an act. These same people who lecture everyone about tolerance and diversity and understanding are the most vile, hurtful, and evil people I know. This isn't them simply being unaware of the facts. They know them and choose to double-down on the lies and narrative they wish were true.

Here's my strategy so that I feel it isn't me:

Someone gives their unasked for & unneeded opinion.
I respond with my opinion.
If the person shuts up, we're done but often they have to go after me. I respond tit-for-tat.
If someone orders me to do something, I don't do it. If they insist, I flip them off. If they continue insisting, I double-finger them, never speaking myself.
Maybe it's specific to where I live, but I get a conflict once every third time. It would be interesting if other people followed my strategy to see if they get more or less reaction?

Yup. The silent majority is where you are. Once that silent damn is broke shit will escalate quickly and that needs to happen. We need to bury these fuckers (politically), otherwise the country is lost.
