We have plenty of timber here, we just won't cut it because of fake science, and during the boom times of globalism we dismantled our timber industry, relying mostly on Canada, who was happy to cut trees. For Wall Street hedgies this was great, more international trading for them to skim dollars off.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 10:37 amthere is an Asian wood beetle killing the trees off here, there is a shortage of Canadian lumber
Canadian lumber is required to keep prices down in the American market
with a serious shortage, plus lumber being shipped to Asia, plus a tariff, it's no wonder lumber prices are so high

Re: Supply Chain Shortages and Inflation
Supply chain disruptions will still be a problem with short, simple supply lines. The increased costs of using short and simple supply lines are what pushed us towards complex global supply lines in the first place.C-Mag wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 10:37 amIt's not just a pipeline. There was a growing fuel shortage before colonial went down, and small supply chain disruptions in various areas. Globalism is dying and it's taking cheap foreign goods and quick delivery with it.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 10:32 amWell, my masters are being handed a great excuse for inflation with all this hand wringing over pipelines.C-Mag wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 10:26 am
Your Masters are not concerned about inflation and printing money.

whatever, I said Trump's protectionist policies would drive prices up for the American consumerC-Mag wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 10:42 amWe have plenty of timber here, we just won't cut it because of fake science, and during the boom times of globalism we dismantled our timber industry, relying mostly on Canada, who was happy to cut trees. and now here we are, it's not like he is a conservative, it was left wing policies he was implementing
you reap what you sow, populist protectionists, oh well
Biden is just carrying on with the Trump policies, he hasn't changed anything, so this is the fallout from Trump

I'm not trying to solve anything. I just recognize the current problems and that globalism is dying. Have you listened to Peter Ziehan ? He seems like someone you would like. Global Strategist, Progressive, lives off stats and what they mean.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 10:42 amSupply chain disruptions will still be a problem with short, simple supply lines. I don't believe all his stuff, but I he has benefit and presents a lot of information.

it's like Trump was a useful truth teller
he would say the things the establishment did not want spoken, and that's why they hate him
but in terms of economic policy, he adopted the very left wing populism which caused the inflation crisis last time
he did what Nixon did, which was steal the New Dealers thunder, and it's having similar results

Re: Supply Chain Shortages and Inflation
it's like I see talk of the gas prices supposedly rising right now
but the inflation adjusted price is $2.25
in 1978 it was $2.38, so actually, the price is flat, to slightly down
