Re: Non-bearded Brethren
I am kind of vain, but I honestly feel blessed, the Lord made me with many flaws, but at least he didn't make me ugly, praise Jesus.

It's self inflicted torture. Whenever humanly possible, I had a small stove and hot water. Wasn't that often I had to do the frozen water shave. Having a stove makes you the most popular guy in the area, you can also get about anything available with hot water or hot coffee.

Beards don't mean what you thought they mean anymore. They aren't lumberjack, tough man shit now. Nine out of ten times the people with beards are bugmen. We are back in the 60's now where beards are for hippies.
Shave that shit off your face.

I have taken this beard off from time to time, like if I have to clean up for a business meeting, but I don't hack it off myself, I let the barber do it, lap of luxury, worth every penny.

Re: Non-bearded Brethren
I think an actual razor has touched my face like 10 times in the last 20 years. I've been bearded since like 95, but shaved it for my wedding in 96. I clean up my neck and cheeks once or twice a week with the electric clipper, real 'head hair' one, not one of those wimpy cordless "beard trimmers". Also cut my own hair with it.
Last winter I let it grow like 3" long just to see, made me look like a biblical prophet! I like 3/4" on my chin and shorter on the sides, lets me hide the double chin just like dear old dad, who sported a beard from the late 1960's when it was acceptable again till the day he died. It's not a statement of anything, other than that I'm too lazy to shave. If I shaved and dyed my hair I'd look 15 years younger, good genes with no wrinkles. The damn liver spots might give me away though. Getting old sucks.

We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

One of my Israeli bosses absolutely loved my three inch beard I grew over the winter. He thought it was great. "You look like Moses"
I had to chop it down it's getting too hot.

Even in Recce Platoon, where you are on your own away from the chain of command, still have to shave for the respirator seal, and that's always cold shave, can't light a stove on patrol.
