DOT FY2016, 3 years out of date, Winslow.
Can you link to where this problem was fixed?

Which problem? The F-35B's flew a CAS mission in Afghanistan from the Indian Ocean; CAS is combat tested.

Who needs CAS anyway? That is so 3rd generation warfare. This is 5th generation warfare. Get with the times fuddosaurus rex
The vast majority of CAS is flown by F-16.

The vast majority of ordinance dropped therein is GBU-12 500 lb bomb.

Literally a C-130 Hercules could do it.

We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

In fact, the C-130 is the preferred CAS platform.

No asset is requested more for air support, than the AC-130 Gunship.

Best low intensity CAS tandem is to have an F-35 Quarterbacking for the AC-130. EODAS ftw.

Bets high intensity CAS platform is F-35, because nothing else will make it to the target. VLO ftw.
