Signal to noise ratio is getting to low here. It's like a radio station that suddenly decided to triple the number of adds. I'm not sure if I want to tune in much longer. I could just put StCapps on ignore, he doesn't ever say anything much useful anyway when it's not about sports, but Smitty is often both funny and full of information. Taking away all his post would just mess up the forum too much for me.

Come to think of it StCapps also contribute positively sometimes on TV series and such. Don't want to miss out on that either. :shrug:

What if we had a dedicated thread where people could talk about hockey? Seems crazy enough to work

Muh war on muh freedoms (while I am in my neighbor's house) is why it won't work. Also, having a moderator antagonize the situation isn't helping either.

There have been attempts to derail with hockey talk that got totally ignored and topic was back on track within a post or two.

There are also threads where posters tried to return to the topic which were completely spammed out of existance and the thread was abandonned by those who actually wanted to discuss the OP. This is censorship by any definition of the word.
Dispite what chicken little hockey bores will try to tell you nobody has suggested banning hockey talk, only that it should be kept to hockey threads. Olympic talk has effectively been banned though as every single Olympics thread has been jacked with spam until only two posters remain posting off topic for page after page.
Threats to run certain members and anyone who supports them off the board have also been made.
This is not Liberty nation it is a deliberate coup attempt by a couple of militant hockey bores who think they have the right to wreck any conversation they wish and chase off any members who disagree with them.

I hear ya. Kath ain't doing your side any favors though. She stokes the flames and is, quite frankly, unbecoming of a moderator. A position that I would assume to be above the fray.

I have no problem skipping past the bullshit and would never let on that any particular member bothered me. Why give them that power? This is just another waystation on the vast expanse of the internet. Yes, I do find things here that I can't find elsewhere but if it fizzles out then it fizzles out. WTF am I to do about it?

Explain to me where Kath has overstepped her position as a moderator.
Despite many claims to the contrary she has not deleted any hockey talk. Instead she has merely moved it to a more appropriate thread in order to allow targeted threads to continue unmolested. Granted this backfired spectacularly due to the stubborness of the hockey bores but it's intent was well within the boundaries of a moderator.
As far as I am aware the only deletion of hockey posts was carried out by our generous benefactor who was well within his rights to do so.
Given the choice between a moderator trying to ensure fair opportunity for all topics of discussion and the actions of two butt hurt spam artists intent on derailing any conversation not to their liking and a stated aim of running off anyone who disagrees with them I think the choice is clear.

Lots of posts have been deleted now, including hockey talk, it is not just a threat, it has been carried out repeatedly, and not just me and Smitty are being targeted.

It was mostly on-topic, about Kath allowing the forum to be overrun by spam because our hockey talk, then she deleted several pages worth of multiple posters posts, probably because she didn't like how bad she came off in that thread. Even if we did spam it, how would that be grounds for deleting an entire thread?
