We did use pyrotechnics to keep the black bears at bay in Petawawa, when they started getting a little too close, but thing about the arctic is; far less room for error, its almost like being on another planet, you don't have much back up at all in the arctic enviroment, so I would go to lethal force much more readily, specific to the operational context. But also, the polar is a lot more peristent than a black bear is, and much sneakier too, the black bear is a scavenger, whereas the polar is a true predator, so I don't pay black bears too much mind, but in polar country, you need to be on high alert.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Oh, for sure.
