Boomers aren't that bad to deal with all you have to do is get in a corner and swing your melee weapon at the hordes, problem being you will be blinded by the boomer goo. What you really need to worry about are smokers and spitters. Once a smoker grabs you, you need a teammate to cut the tentacle otherwise it will take all your health.Speaker to Animals wrote:Then what would they do with boomers that have no missiles?

I suppose they would use them as astronomically overpriced SSNs, although, with Corbyn, you're going to get spent into a fiscal crisis with him flying around buying magic beans all over the place, so more likely odds are they would be mothballed upon completion, as the inevitable debt crisis forced austerity came crashing down.Speaker to Animals wrote:Then what would they do with boomers that have no missiles?
It's basically tantamount to electing Hugo Chavez to be PM.
On second thought, scratch tantamount, it's exactly like electing Hugo Chavez to be PM, Corbyn and Chavez are fellow travellers.

I suppose you could use them to transport special forces around and deploy them under the surface.
Are boomers fast enough to be attack subs?

When one can print the reserve currency, and has a $700 billion dollar military budget, that might make sense, but since the UK cannot simply print sterling to get themselves out of trouble, and have finite resources when it comes to an already stretched beyond the limits MOD, it's literally insane.Speaker to Animals wrote:I suppose you could use them to transport special forces around and deploy them under the surface.

Trident if you must, no Trident, also OK, pay the collosal freight for Trident but don't get Trident for your money; magic beans.

Just so you get the disparity tho, 1 SSBN, costs as much as 8 SSN's, so to use 4 SSBN's as SSNs, you've paid for 32 SSN's to do that, more SSNs than Russia and China currently possess, combined. Russia has 17. China has 6. America has 51.

The point is not that he would do that tho, he wouldn't really do that, the point is that he'll just say anything to get elected, and he's utterly beholden to entrenched interest unions, and loonie flower children Left, and now you can add Millenials and SJW's and whatnot, but he has no plan, no idea what he's doing, and he'd basically just spend, spend, spend to buy votes from the Left, until the UK crashed into a debt crisis, then austerity would have to be imposed, that would make Maggie Thatcher look like a loonie lefty.
Like I said, he's the Limey Hugo Chavez.
This the problem with the Left in general, they promise fairies and unicorns, they fly around dropping money they don't have on every hand out, buying magic beans, then the hangover comes, and the country crashes into ruin and disorder, the loonie Left, is just that on steroids.

Didn't Margaret Thatcher and neoliberal policies pretty much hollow out Union power in the UK? I've read that the gravedigger's union wasn't burying bodies during the winter of discontent, and basically the whole country shut down from strikes, but then Thatcher basically cut off their balls during the 80's. How did they manage to regain power?Smitty-48 wrote:The point is not that he would do that tho, he wouldn't really do that, the point is that he'll just say anything to get elected, and he's utterly beholden to entrenched interest unions, and loonie flower children Left, and now you can add Millenials and SJW's and whatnot, but he has no plan, no idea what he's doing, and he'd basically just spend, spend, spend to buy votes from the Left, until the UK crashed into a debt crisis, then austerity would have to be imposed, that would make Maggie Thatcher look like a loonie lefty.

Well, first of all, union power is really propped up by the public sector unions now, but in terms of the private unions, even though they only represent 15% of workers, they are still a very powerful entrenched interest, because they control key ridings, so they have disproportionate power far beyond their weight class.heydaralon wrote:Didn't Margaret Thatcher and neoliberal policies pretty much hollow out Union power in the UK? Maggie Thatcher went after certain unions, the coal miners most famously, but she didn't go after the warship builders, she built a lot of warships after all.
I mean here in Canada, Left wing union members in two key ridings, actually decided who would be the leader of the Conservative party, just by purchasing party memberships and voting as a block.
