What you're arguing for is the previous kind of culture where the dominant culture absorbed the new ones into it (though cultural appropriation, you know, the melting pot idea) and became a better, stronger culture.

I would agree that Multiculturalism is a utopian fantasy. It doesn't work, never has. What does work in some cases is a cultural melting pot. The blending of cultures. That can be enriching and strengthening. The idea of together but apart is a recipe for civil conflict. And mind you, those are always the most vicious and bloody of all human human conflicts. We need to assimilate the immigrants or die trying.

What exactly is your definition of integration? Many immigrants try to maintain positive aspects of their culture such as food, music, art, clothing etc. Does this mean they are not integrating?
