I love Monty to death, but I would not leave him alone with small children or even pets for that matter. Last time he pet sit for someone, the tabby left blood in the litter box.

This is standard operating procedure for them since time immemorial. They are pandering ass characters to try and appeal to the large SJW demographic fanbase of the show. One thing GOT did really well in the earlier seasons was showing the chaos and amorality that take place in ruling a country. The good and bad alike died and were subject to the drift of events, just like real life. Now the show has taken a nosedive in many ways. Jon Snow and Daneryius are one dimensional characters. They are boring. If the writers had any balls they would have kept Snow dead, but they brought him back. Daneryius has numerous pro-LGTBQ monologues and is against slavery. I'm not an expert on history, but I don't think these viewpoints were existent during the Middle Ages which is what this show is based on. The writers put that bullshit in there because Slate writers love that kind of stuff, even though it does not fit at all with the show. Ramsay, Cersai, and Little Finger, are three dimensional characters, and they behave how real Medieval characters would. They are interesting. I don't give a shit about Jon Snow's Merkel Wall Policy or Daneryius' season long arc where nothing happens and then she frees the slaves with her dragons in the last five minutes and scissors Theon's sea-dyke sister. That's always been the show at it worst dude. You are free to like whoever you want though...clubgop wrote:This is just desperate. You cant be this serious. Ramsay was the most one dimensional character on the show. His torture act was getting boring, thank god Little Finger saved us from his tedious one note sadism. Cersei and Little Finger, actually have depth as characters, Ramsay had less depth than Joffrey. He served his purpose, and now it's time for the show to move on to more interesting storylines. They couldn't leave Jon Snow dead, he was too important to the storyline, especially in that part of the world.

You know what, Ramsay was kind of one dimensional. As I said though, he was a more believable character than Snow or the Targerian. Warlords don't care about slavery, or the unjust patriarchal systems they inherit, usually they just want more power. I've said it on the last board, but I think it would have been a great troll if the writers just quietly kept advancing Ramsay throughout the last seasons, slowly giving him more power, and then ended the show with him on the iron throne. That would have made the fans so mad. I know a couple of GoT fans who are insufferable. They will not admit that the show has bitten off more than it can chew, expanded with characters without properly developing them, become overly reliant on CGI, fantasy, and deus ex machina solutions (dragons, laser zombies) to resolve problems, and become incessantly preachy with its dialogue. I used to like Tyrrion but his lines have drifted into this territory as well. I like the show a lot, and I will continue to watch it until its over, but its not the Wire or the Sopranos, or even True Detective Season 1. Anyway, thats my opinion, which is not worth much tbh...StCapps wrote:Ramsay was the most one dimensional character on the show. Jon Snow = John Cena interesting. I can dig that. I get that but Daenerys has plenty of warts and shortcomings. But I do agree that last season finale was a desperate attempt to throw everybody into their starting blocks for season 7.heydaralon wrote:They are pandering ass characters to try and appeal to the large SJW demographic fanbase of the show. Well it's certainly not The Wire or The Sopranos but it makes no sense to compare an entire series to a single season. Game of Thrones is definitely better than True Detective as a series. Personally I still rank Game of Thrones in my top 15 TV Drama's of all time and don't see it falling off that list unless they really fuck the ending up.heydaralon wrote:but its not the Wire or the Sopranos, or even True Detective Season 1. The second season sucked for sure. I personally think season 1 was better than any GoT seasons, even the earlier ones that were great. Was the last episode of TD season 1 shit? Yep. But in spite of that, I still love those seven episodes, flawed as they are. I'm not trying to shit on GoT. Its still one of my favorite shows. I guess I'm just mad because it could be so much better. Remember the storyline when Bron and Jaime go to rescue that Lannister girl? The fight scenes looked like they were out of Xena the warrior princess. As the show goes on, I've noticed more and more of those sloppily written plots. They sort of burned themselves out after season 3.StCapps wrote:Well it's certainly not The Wire or The Sopranos and it makes no sense to compare an entire series to a single season.
