Well, I called it back on DCF prior to the Trump election that Trump was going to win(check), he would unite the country(last night, check), reform the establishment(underway), end 100 years of failed Progressive Ideology(underway) and kick off the 2nd American Republic. Had Hillary been elected in this watershed election the nation would have been irreversibly damage that would have led to the downfall of the Republic.

We are living in great and historic times! How's that for optimism!

I'd be interested in the Dark Tower movie.. I've heard great things about the books, but never had time to actually read them.

I'm most hyped for PT Anderson's movie in 2017. Although it doesn't seem to have a title yet so maybe it won't come out this year. http://m.imdb.com/title/tt5776858/?ref_=m_nmfmd_dr_1

Just watched Boogie Nights last weekend which made me look up what Anderson is doing next.

I almost never go to the movies even though there is a theater couple blocks from my house, but I saw LA LA Land. My wife had been begging to go for weeks, I refused and refused, she begged more, I googled the promo materials and said NO WAY, she ultimately got a 2-for-1, bought the tix, and promised me it would be good, so I went (and snuck in some good beers to help alleviate pain if it blew)

the opening scene involves people getting out of their cars on a jam packed highway in CA to sing and dance. The gayest thing I have ever seen, first beer popped immediately. All I could think is "I have made a terrible mistake," and even considered, how made would apewife be if I just walked home?

By the end of the movie I thought it was really good, there is a story telling device at the end which was excellent and meaningful. I recommend the flick, but be warned you will consider holding your breathe until to pass out when you see the opening scenes.
