Even if there were no evidence-based comparisons, the regs in the Republican and Democratic parties are similar. The point is that neither of them have to follow their constituents, not that only the Democrats haven't.

Well they do have to follow the constituents, those are the delegates to the national convention. GOP does not have Superdelegates, they have unbound delegates and the distinctuon is huge. So frankly "only the democrats haven't" is the issue.

The DNC has valid, logical, and respectable defenses it can assert with regard to this lawsuit; its choice to advance this one was wrong-footed and irresponsible.
