Oh, robots is a growth market, definitely should do robots, I don't think they need to be Gundam sized, but robot war is definitely a profit center, man machine teaming, that's a go.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:Dang.
What about Gundams? Can we build those? That is cooler than some stupid bomba, and has got to cost some scrip.
I mean... I guess that is basically the F-35 though.

Still tho, without Castle Bravo staring them in the face, you're never going to get the fear you need, to get the big budgets, Keynesianism doesn't work unless you go big, and you can't get to there, without dragging them to the brink to stare into the existential abyss.
99% of the Cold War, was all about the hydrogen bombs, without that, you ain't got shit.
If you want a serious Keynesian effect, you need to get back up to early Cold War poopin' their pants panic budgets, 10% GDP spending for starters, which, you know what the Lolbergs and Fiscal Hawks are gonna say about that, so to really deploy King Dollah for Keynes, you're gonna have to have people trampling those clowns in a panic, and for that, you need them to panic, en masse, and Cyberwar, just ain't gonna get it done.

What if we seeded the world with fake alien artifacts that somehow hinted that an invasion force is coming at some point in the next century? We could create a backstory to explain why they were kept secret for a long time, etc. Make the federal government out to be complicit and trying to keep people ignorant of important information. Then we can force through massive global keynsianism to overcome the alien menace.

I don't think you need to get too fancy about it, keep it simple stupid, go into western Ukraine and the Balkans, in force, and ramp it up in the China Seas, you don't need space aliens to stir up a nuclear hornets nest, nuclear hornets nest is easy, if you have the will.Speaker to Animals wrote:What if we seeded the world with fake alien artifacts that somehow hinted that an invasion force is coming at some point in the next century?
Russia and China, they've already crossed a buncha red lines, a ways back in fact, you got all the mandate you need, right now, it's low hanging nuclear fruit, ripe for the taking.

Yeah, but wouldn't my plan give the globalists control of it all?

I think all your woes start with the Cold War going away and associated Peace Dividend, this is when your MIC economy switched to being the Wall Street economy, this is when the country degenrated into polarization, no more common enemy existential threat, no more Cold War truce, that has sent you back to the pre WWII era Class War, and then the whole globalism thing, that's just the fall of the Iron and Bamboo curtains coupled with an American pullback from the trace.
That nostalgia, for that America. that everybody remembers so fondly? That was the Cold War. The Cold War was the force that gave America meaning, like never before, the binding force, which kept the American peace, for 45 years.
Whereas right now? Look around, you're basically back to the 1930's America, and that's why everybody's pissed off, because the 1930's sucked, the 1930's sucked so hard, people were actually ecstatic about World War Two, World War Two, literally brightened up their lives.

It's all fun and games til the world ends and you and yours are in some cannibal's basement, their fresh stocked larder:

Then you're all like "Well, I didn't really mean it."
Maybe I see a darker future than you all do if this shit really goes down, but I'm certainly not wishing for war, cold or hot. Especially not between the major powers.

What makes you think you're safe from a countervalue exchange, right now? You got 3500+ hydrogen bombs at 15 minutes notice to launch, what's the difference between that, and a war footing?jediuser598 wrote:It's all fun and games til the world ends and you and yours are in some cannibal's basement, their fresh stocked larder:

You were at DEFCON 5 in the Cold War, you're at DEFCON 5 now, nobody has ever stood down from 15 minutes notice to launch on warning, so as far as the hydrogen bombs are concerned, the war is still in progress.

The sword is always at all of our throats, since the invention of nuclear weapons and then their proliferation. I live an area that would see utter destruction, being as close to Seattle as I am. Many argue that's why we have peace, the mutually assured destruction. But I don't hope for the death of civilization, I don't hope for another Cuban Missile Crisis.Smitty-48 wrote:What makes you think you're safe from a countervalue exchange, right now? Why? Why do you wish for such pain and suffering? Would you have us enter another World War? Just so men in uniforms can distinguish themselves in the mud and blood of combat? I hope it never comes. The world would be better off if it never comes. When all our industry, ingenuity, creativity, and humanity is wasted on shells just plowing humans into the ground, so we can gain a few inches of land as we fight each other to extinction. I do not wish for hell.
