It's actually a really old meme. Rich Americans were made fun of world wide for their taste in food and somehow they equated all things rich Americans eat concerning steak as BBQ.

Tbh I don't really get either the fact that Trump is part of the trope or why people think white Americans have a bland food taste.

I was just bitching about this in the food thread. Midwesterners eat like fucking children. The "hot" option at chipotle or "Mexican" restaurants doesn't even sting. Damn chicken wings are the only spicy thing available, and that's to cover up the deep fried blandness. Fair food is disgusting, but people go apeshit over it because it's something different than TV dinners and bland cooking.

Well-done steak is a pointless exercise to look fancy. May as well order a hockey puck.

Medium Rare is perfection, when it's done right.

Cookouts up here usually revolve around a pack of Oscar Meyer dogs, a tub of 'tato salad', and whatever bulk frozen patties caught their eye. I do it up with stuffed mushrooms, charceuterie, grilled asparagus, some natural-casing sausages... people look at me like Gordon-fuckin'-Ramsey. I even got some shit from one chucklehead for being 'oohlala fancy' (pretentious).

He's not been invited back.

Carmalize my onions tbh. Pico usually involves habenero peppers but the Texmex version with jalapeños is ok as well.
