http://money.cnn.com/2017/02/24/media/c ... index.htmlWhen reporters from these news organizations tried to enter Spicer's office for the gaggle, they were told they could not attend because they were not on the list of attendees.
In a brief statement defending the move, administration spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said the White House "had the pool there so everyone would be represented and get an update from us today."
The White House press pool usually includes representatives from one television outlet, one radio outlet and one print outlet, as well as reporters from a few wire services. In this case, four of the five major television networks -- NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox News -- were invited and attended the meeting, while only CNN was blocked.
And while The New York Times was kept out, conservative media organizations Breitbart News, The Washington Times and One America News Network were also allowed in.
"This is an unacceptable development by the Trump White House," CNN said in a statement. "Apparently this is how they retaliate when you report facts they don't like. We'll keep reporting regardless."

Nothing says about a functional working free democracy like a free press that the government wanted to "banned" from a press briefing because they are writing something that the president doesn't like hearing about:

Replace "something that the president doesn't like" with "deliberate lies and distortion", and maybe you will see the problem from the other side's perspective..

There were no Russian ties. In fact, whistleblowers just leaked documents that indicate it was Hillary herself paid by the Russian government. Weird times. Stop watching fake news.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
When the government starts to pick and choose which organisations are allowed into a press conference based on how much they criticise them the free press is on a slippery slope towards censorship. Bad news for them, the BBC is not going to stop criticising bad policies just because you won't let them in.....

They picked and chose based on who was LYING.
And I don't remember any of you yahoos complaining when Obama did the exact same thing, but the target was actually banned for expressing opinions the president didn't like rather than just caught flagrantly lying to people repeatedly.

They picked based on who they "accused" of lying. This is coming from the President who spent years lying about whether Obama was born in the USA. Wake up and smell the coffee.

This constantly resorting to "yes but Obama" is weak. If it was wrong when he did something it doesn't magically become right when Trump does it.GrumpyCatFace wrote:<citation needed>Speaker to Animals wrote:They picked and chose based on who was LYING.

I love it when people conflate freedom of speech and a demand to be heard--it's almost as funny when they think freedom of the press means thou shalt watch, listen, and read whatever we film, say, or write!
"She had yellow hair and she walked funny and she made a noise like... O my God, please don't kill me! "
