What happens if the batter and bowler both miss - no wicket hit? Just re-throw?

Learn to duck or rely on wearing a good helmet. Sometimes the batsman is killed.

Yep, known as a dot ball (no score) a small victory for the bowler.
Unless it's an LBW.
What’s LBW? And why would that help the bowler??

Can the fielder just chuck it from the outside and hit a wicket?
Because if only one ran they could both end up at the same end.
Yes if the batsman is not in his crease, it's called a run out.

If the batsman only scores one run then the other batsman faces the next ball.
At the end of an over the batsman stay where they are and the next over is bowled from the other end by a different bowler.
What?

Leg Before Wicket.
If the ball hits your leg without first hitting your bat and the umpire decides it would otherwise have hit the stumps you are given out.
This is to stop the batsman simply standing in front of the stumps to prevent the ball hitting them.

What?
Not sure what you don't get here.
There are two wickets (stumps) and two batsmen. Each set of 6 balls (an over) is bowled from one end only. Because the batsmen change ends when they run a single (or a three) the bowler can face either batsman during an over. If the batsman at the crease doesn't run or scores an even number of runs he faces the next ball, unless it is the last ball of an over. When the next bowler comes in he bowls his 6 balls from the other end.
If one batsman is better than the other he will try to remain at the crease to protect the weaker batsman. This means he will try to hit a single on the last ball of an over so he is at the other end to face the next bowler.

Cricket is the second most popular sport worldwide after soccer and cares little about your three word dismissal.

Don't care about soccer either. Anything that can end in a tie is flawed

F1 the cars don't even crash into each other.

Agree with the rest, but F1 is fucking awesome. Those guys used to die and get maimed constantly.

Yeah, it used to be brutal especially mid-century.
