Agree, and I've made these same points myself, in other threads.

I don't watch days of coverage about anything, but I also have zero faith in 'authority' or 'expertise'. 9 out of 10 'experts' are talking out of their asses.

I have no irrational fear of guns. I have a very healthy fear of guns, in the hands of idiots. Yet, you cannot deny that it's a completely avoidable thing that faces an absurd backlash when it's brought up.

Reminds me of a post the wife of my old boss made, like two weeks after she posted a picture of a raccoon she shot with her .22 bolt action that was raiding her garden, after the FL shooting she posts how "we need to ban 'high caliber' guns"... I had to reply that, uh, the AR he used was pretty much the same "caliber" (.22 vs .223), they're different in the casing and power (grains of powder) but not much in caliber. Told her if she wants to have an intelligent debate about guns she should really learn and use the correct terminology, otherwise she's gonna be taken as just another liberal idiot. (She kinda is anyways )
