I read a piece this morning that makes me like to imagine that I was IRL the unnamed antagonist.

I mean, come on, who else would you think of as the bad actor in question when a story starts out with "It was July 2014, Nashville Tennessee. I was walking into a gas station for a bottle of water when the man behind me stepped up to open the door for me."

It seems to me the moral of the article, albeit unintended, is that it’s probably best to avoid (a) excessive weight gain, and (b) feminism, both of which seem likely to engender alienation, resentment and fits of random hysteria.

Once I let the door go, she walked through. She had books in her hands, and she struggled to carry it all and force the door open smoothly.

The situation is getting out of hand, honestly. Because most of the pretty women expect to be served all the time, my gut instinct is to want to avoid holding the door open for them by default. But then so many of the average-looking women have become feminists since feminism is in part affirmative action for average and less desirable women. At this point, if she is dressed like a GRIT, she gets the door opened. Other than that, I am not so sure.

That said, I have witnessed a noticeable up-tick in women opening doors for men too. So maybe it will just work itself out.

Part of my personal code is that I hold doors for everyone (assuming its not awkward, I am not gonna wait more than a second or two unless your hands are full, etc.). For men too, its not gendered, I just treat every single person I come across like they are worth a small effort at being decent, until proven otherwise.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — One of the top art schools in the U.S. is investigating after anti-Semitic graffiti made out of human waste was found in a gender-neutral bathroom.

The college, known as RISD (RIZ'-dee), says in a statement that the level of "disrespect and vitriol is completely unacceptable." Public safety officials are investigating it as an act of vandalism and a hate crime.

The school says it has met with students on the dorm floor and has encouraged those with information to come forward.
