This is an outstanding point.
We rarely focus on efficiency and the benefits of efficiency anymore.
The military for example is becoming less efficient all the time because they are spending too much time trying to figure out how to integrate women and lunatics into the military or how to avoid law suits rather than focusing on their primary jobs of killing people and breaking things.

It is the truth, milspecs. Most women marry up. Female doctors, for example, still look for men who earn more than them. Men marry for love.MilSpecs wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 9:49 amIrrational. If I stop working then of course my husband’s earnings are going to surpass mine.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 9:12 amWomen do not marry for love. If women married for love, you'd not see the vast majority of women married to men who make more than themselves. LOL
Also, the biggest predictive factor for a woman filing divorce is the man losing his income.
You really do not have a leg to stand on here. It would be more effective to be honest about it.

Women marry for money comparable to men marrying for sex appeal.

It’s not a personal attack, and emotional arguments have no rational counter.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 10:25 ami am hardly the outlier and personal attacks will not counter my argument either.DBTrek wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 9:53 amY’all are trying to convince an outlier who apparently suffered a massive trauma with logic. My grandmother was beaten and robbed by three young black men when she was around 70 years old. She had some pretty unfavorable opinions about blacks after that experience, and understandably so. Trying to sway her from those opinions with logic would be a waste of time, because her views were solidified by personal experience and survival instinct.
Same with you and women. You took a beating, you’re traumatized, and no amount of sense-talking will overcome the lessons of your personal experience.
Not an attack, an impartial observation based on years of interactions.

It was a petty personal attack as a substitute for no argument. Maybe you just need serious counciling to recover your yourself. LOL
Seriously, let's just stick to arguments for a while. The insult game bores me.

The argument is that arguing facts with traumatized people is a waste of time. I think you’ve left a substantial body of evidence in support of my argument.

It was a case example of the ad hominem fallacy. Your false argument was to the effect that my argument should be dismissed because you believe I need psychological counseling.
Yet whether or not I actually need counseling has no bearing on the veracity of my argument. Ad hominem entails attacking the character of the man making an argument rather refuting the argument (usually because the one who uses this fallacy cannot refute the argument).

Good points about the major stuff. That’s very hard work. I didn’t think of it out of ignorance, not lack of appreciation - I’m very grateful for the great life he’s given us - because it’s not stuff we do ourselves (we don’t have the time or the skills, but we can earn the money to pay for it). The kids and I shovel the snow since if he tries to pick up a shovel I will hit him over the head with it, and I do the small appliance repair. We are a team, as no doubt you are.PartyOf5 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 10:04 am
I gave a few examples. I feel sorry for your husband that you obviously do not appreciate the things he may be doing. Maybe he doesn't do any of those things I mentioned, but to marginalize it the way you did shows me how biased and narrow your views are on this topic.
FYI, when the lawn mowing ends, the snow shoveling begins. You probably don't even realize how much other stuff is being done because you're too focused on yourself. Re-roofing a house takes a whole weekend. Finishing a basement takes a good amount of time. It's more than just fixing a toaster.

Face time doesn’t count at your job?PartyOf5 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 10:10 amBy giving up a lot of things we used to spend money on before kids that were not essential. Kids came first. Also by doing a lot of home repairs like roofing and finishing a basement on my own (with help from the dads of course).
By being efficient at work. Working more hours than someone else doesn't automatically mean you got more done. Good employers notice what you get done, not how much time your spend at work.
