What happens when Uncle Fuckyoupayme decides they need RFID chips embedded, and uses the new ID numbers as your identity (SSN)?
Entropy will lead to the eventual heat death of the universe, so there's no point in anything. Let's just be degenerate criminals.

Well, I am all for voting ID card BUT the government is going to have to issue and handout said cards to everyone who is eligible to vote.

Government installing RFID chips? Meh, that is behind the times GCF because private companies have begun doing it to their employees:

Over the past week, news of Wisconsin company Three Square Market (32M) offering to implant its employees with a RFID microchip the size of a grain of rice has quickly gone viral. The chip functions as an NFC-powered multi-purpose key/credit card/identification tool that the company sees as the future. 32M might not be wrong about that, but this is not how our chipped future will or should happen.

32M is a Wisconsin company that sells "micro market technology" running over 2,000 kiosks in break rooms and other locations worldwide. The chips that at least 50 company employees will receive on August 1 will allow them to make purchases at 32M's own break room market, so it sure seems to be an alpha test of a potential product offering as much as it is an unusual perk.

"We see this as another payment and identification option that not only can be used in our markets but our other self-checkout/self-service applications that we are now deploying which include convenience stores and fitness centers," said 32M COO Patrick McMullan.

Employees will also be able to use the chip, implanted between the thumb and index finger, to open doors, use copy machines, log into computers, share business cards and store health information.

The syringe slides in between the thumb and index finger. Then, with a click, a microchip is injected in the employee's hand. Another “cyborg” is created.

What could pass for a dystopian vision of the workplace is almost routine at the Swedish start-up hub Epicenter. The company offers to implant its workers and start-up members with microchips the size of grains of rice that function as swipe cards: to open doors, operate printers or buy smoothies with a wave of the hand.

“The biggest benefit, I think, is convenience,” said Patrick Mesterton, co-founder and chief executive of Epicenter. As a demonstration, he unlocks a door merely by waving near it. “It basically replaces a lot of things you have, other communication devices, whether it be credit cards or keys.”

I don't know. For some reason I thought you had said it.

That's a different argument. Has nothing to do with stopping voting fraud.

That's pretty much the idea. The GOP will try to create barriers to getting one, such as fees and whatnot, but that's easily dealt with. A national id card doesn't need a fee and it's not like you need to take a driver's test or anything.

State DMVs could be geared to issue the cards with existing equipment, and be reimbursed for the costs by the federal government.

That would be fine. It's not a big task in the computer age. Should not be a National ID card though. Just for voting.

I don't know. For some reason I thought you had said it.

Are you confusing me with Milspace and/or Kath? I think that both are married with kids.

Nope.
