You're a disturbed human being. Anyone who cherishes and encourages cruelty to animals is.... just /sigh.

Perhaps the elephants are thinking how stupid humans are, because they can't follow simple directions when the elephant tells the circus employee that he doesn't want to be part of their stupid show.

Another trophy hunter was killed by an elephant on Friday. Congrats to the elephant and good riddance. Trophy hunters... nobody needs them.
I just read all the other posts. Either they are trolling you, or they have a impenetrable wall of ignorance.
There is no trolling going on in this thread, I can assure you of that. I'm a bit disappointed in Kath though. I thought she could put aside her racism toward Africans for five minutes to understand that caring about Elephants is a luxury that most people in the Third World can't afford. Are elephants pretty to look at? Sure. But its a hardball world out there. Those elephants are destroying the environment and attacking blameless people for no good reason. Countless Africans rely on ivory to better themselves and their communities, and the Chinese have a long history of potion making and entrepreneurial-ism that requires ingredients from endangered species. Who are we to judge these ancient cultures for utilizing the resources they were given?

If you really cared about Elephants, you should be embracing Barnum and Bailey for saving these animals and giving them the opportunity to perform with dignity for crowds of people. I would go so far as to label PT Barnum to an abolitionist. He was the Harriet Tubman of the entertainment industry, leading Elephants from the bleak African continent to the bright lights of the circus, and captivating the minds of youngsters for decades. A sort of "above ground railroad" if you will. Seeing as how many travelling circuses used trains to go from town to town, this is a perfect comparison. Removing these beasts from the circus would dash the hopes of your children and mine. and rob Elephants of the opportunity of loving care, and almost daily feeding. Since elephants are notoriously unruly animals, the discipline provided by circus employees gives them structure and guidance to help them become productive circus performers. Earlier Kath mentioned that Elephants are highly intelligent and empathetic animals. If that is the case, shouldn't they be held accountable for their actions when they attack and maim circus employees and hunters at national parks? Shouldn't we hold them to the same standard we hold highly sentient beings? She seems to view them as automatons who are incapable of looking after themselves. This kind of simple and paternalistic thinking is incredibly demeaning and destructive to animals. I'm not convinced that elephants are actually that intelligent, but I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and spend my hard earned money watching them perform at circuses. By eliminating this avenue, she would have them scrape by in the woods living in their own excrement and accomplishing nothing of value. I guess I'm not cold blooded enough to see things her way.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have joined forces on a bill that would ban the use of exotic and wild animals in traveling circuses and any other entertainment act on wheels. In late March, Representatives Raul Grijalva, an Arizona Democrat, Ryan Costello, a Pennsylvania Republican, and 22 other lawmakers introduced the Traveling Exotic Animal and Public Safety Protection Act (TEAPSPA) in the House. It would require the 19 traveling circuses in the U.S. with performing animals to to use only human entertainers—or shut down.

If the bill passes, it will end life on the road for more than 200 big cats, bears, camels, and elephants still working as circus performers. Thirty-four other countries have instituted similar bans, as have dozens of cities and counties in the U.S., including Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Disciplining elephants so people can make money off them? WTF? What is this racism shit?

You do realize of course that the reason the savanna exists for all the other animals is because of the elephant, right?

That the elephants have gone from three million thirty years ago to less than 280 hundred thousand to about 400 hundred thousand now?

The conservationist organizations were planning for its actual exstinction in the wild because of criminal gangs armed with heavy machine guns and using poison to kill not only entire herds but many other animals for the tusks of a few adult males? That battles involving assault rifles, machine guns, and helicopters between rangers and poachers on parklands have happened?

That one of the reasons elephants harm humans is because they move into established elephant territory and migration routes? And adolescent elephants untaught by their deaths relatives have gone on rampages.

Stop showing your ignorance.

You must be concerne trolling.
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Youtube feminists are better than any circus freaks.
