So the plane was supposed to just sit there all night? I feel bad for the guy because he got bumped but bumped he got.

Beating him up was probably the worst thing they could have done though. United should have kept offering more money until somebody bounced. A few hundred more max and somebody would have offered their seat. If they're going to overbook, then every once in a while nobody is going to cancel and this situation is going to arise. And it usually works, but every once in a while 800 isnt going to be enough. Shell out a little more you cheap fucks.

It's a private venue, if a business tells you to vacate the premises, and you refuse, their private security is going to have latitude to forcibly remove you, it might be bad PR, but if he's staging a "protest" and they have to haul his ass out, that's on him.

Basically, at the point that he outright refusing to leave, he's tresspassing, at which point, subject to as much reasonable force as is required to remove him.

A business is allowed to exist because it serves society, not the other way around. People band together to protect themselves, not the businesses of the richest among them. Granted, The 1% has used its asymmetric power to leverage the legal system into saying that businesses are people and have the Rights of people, but that can't last... When The Collapse comes, The 1% and their "businesses" will be reigned in.

This is not capitalism. In capitalism, I buy a good or service and it is delivered. If somebody else wants that good or service, they can offer to purchase it from me.

If United wanted their employees to fly in somebody else's seat so badly, they should have found a price that was worth it to the passengers. In fact, they seemed to have had an offer for $1400. But they scoffed at that and decided to steal the seat from the person who already paid for it.

Because they didn't want to pay the $1400, they are set to lose millions (probably a lot more) as Americans say fuck no to United Airlines and it's fucked up response to this debacle.

If we had a free market, a company like this would never exist. You better believe, if we boycott the fucking thing, they will just get our tax dollars to bail themselves out and rebrand their merchandise to a new name.

I hope the airline gave Mr. Miagi a rental car voucher. I'm not sure I'd trust him behind the wheel of a car though. He'd probably be in the left lane on the interstate going 25 under with his hazard lights on.
