You parents could put your kids in the military for four years, have them learn discipline, maturity, and responsibility, and at the end they get free college.

What's the problem?

My kids are already disciplined, mature and responsible. I also like them alive and making their own decisions, following their hearts and their consciences. They haven't let me down yet. If I thought they would be best served by joining the military I would proudly do so, but it wouldn't be the best path for them.

You want free college, but you don't think there should be any sacrifice in attaining it?

:o

Truly shocked.

All this passive voice -- who is extending adolescence? Who is extended education?

Is this a good trend? Is this is permanent trend?

Doesn't matter, no inquiry required. You perceive this change, so now we need to "adjust to the new paradigm", so free college.

They might get sent to go make some big conglomerate money and come out dead or maimed in the meantime.
No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session

Should there be sacrifice for high school and elementary school?

They have a better chance of drinking themselves to death on campus than ever seeing combat.

Yes. Public education sucks, and the costs keep rising. Bring college into the fold and watch the same thing happen even more than it is now. Free shit for everyone is going to ruin this nation.

Try to imagine what it is that is going to be up for grabs when it pops. You think Microsoft, Google, and Apple are gonna be standing by to start buying up universities when their bankrupted states start putting them up for sale?

Or maybe it's the student loan debt that's gonna get put up for sale. Wall Street loan sharks buying up hipster student loan debt OMG, that would be hilarious.
