The Donald's 35% tariff is needed....it will force companies to reshore and/or automate......automation is inevitable....better to force politicians to deal with it now....the question is, and I posed this on DCF years ago, will capitalism survive the AI revolution? Only way I see that happening is a massive population reduction...capitalism needs capital to work, and one generates capital either through trading labor or mental computation for wages.... there is no market demand for 10 billion people...thus, most of the world will not be able to generate capital....and therefore, will need to be supported....further, the world does not need 9 billion artists to produce culture....quality over quantity.....
