Safe huh?
Did you check with OSHA? .................Hmmmmmm
How about the Department of Labor while your kids were toiling in the fields?
How about the EPA while you were polluting the air by blowing chaff everywhere.
Did you follow all FDA standards for the handling of food products?

I don't know BroGrump......... sounds like a menacing and dangerous operation to public health and safety

Hurr Hurr. :)

Much safer than other machines that I've worked with, kids basically got away with screwing around the whole time, chaff has no polluting effect, and fuck teh FDA hard.

Well shit... I was pretty wrong about how much wheat was left in the field. Looks like another day of harvesting and threshing for me. It was hard to tell with all the weeds, but there's a lot.

Here's the flail I made, with bucket lid:

I'm getting pretty damn good at this, actually. I'll get a final weight once I get all of it in.

Leave the chaff,
and take the wheat

Got a soil testing kit this weekend, and discovered that my dirt is slightly alkaline (not a big problem), rich in Potassium and Phosphorous, and fucking bereft of Nitrogen. Picked up 100 lbs of Milorganite and spread it over the field, started tilling yesterday for winter wheat.

It is surprisingly difficult to get Nitrogen fertilizer...
