Hospitals are death traps, you didn't know? When you put all the sick people in one place, they are closer to all sorts of diseases they otherwise wouldn't be close to, this should be obvious.

Given all of this, why do liberals keep losing the gun control debate?

Maybe it’s because they argue their case badly and — let’s face it — in bad faith. Democratic politicians routinely profess their fidelity to the Second Amendment — or rather, “a nuanced reading” of it — with all the conviction of Barack Obama’s support for traditional marriage, circa 2008. People recognize lip service for what it is.
Then there are the endless liberal errors of fact. There is no “gun-show loophole” per se; it’s a private-sale loophole, in other words the right to sell your own stuff. The civilian AR-15 is not a true “assault rifle,” and banning such rifles would have little effect on the overall murder rate, since most homicides are committed with handguns. It’s not true that 40 percent of gun owners buy without a background check; the real number is closer to one-fifth.
The National Rifle Association does not have Republican “balls in a money clip,” as Jimmy Kimmel put it the other night. The N.R.A. has donated a paltry $3,533,294 to all current members of Congress since 1998, according to The Washington Post, equivalent to about three months of Kimmel’s salary. The N.R.A. doesn’t need to buy influence: It’s powerful because it’s popular.

In fact, the more closely one looks at what passes for “common sense” gun laws, the more feckless they appear. Americans who claim to be outraged by gun crimes should want to do something more than tinker at the margins of a legal regime that most of the developed world rightly considers nuts. They should want to change it fundamentally and permanently.

There is only one way to do this: Repeal the Second Amendment.

The problem is that you can't really repeal the second amendment. Or more specifically, the fundamental right only recognized by the second amendment prexists government according to the framework of American government. The language of the amendment makes that clear. Further, the remaining amendments clearly states that all rights, including those not specifically enumerated therein, are retained by the People.

You'd literally have to overthrow American government to get real gun control like they want. If all of Congress and the state legislatures voted for this, we'd automatically be in a state of war since the kind of gun control they describe is really an attack on self-government itself. Good luck, I guess.

Even if you opened up the constitution, the result would not be the repeal of the 2nd Amendment, it would actually be reinforced, the 2nd would simply be amended to read;

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed, and yes, you liberal fucks, that means all Arms, automatic, military, or otherwise, to include machine guns, grenades, mortars, and rocket launchers too, and if the Well Regulated Militia ever needs a nuke, that's not out of the question neither"

If the liberals think that military firepower is not the will of the popular masses, they'd be in for a Trump like rude awakening.

Even the hippies in America are gun nuts, I've met surf bums in Northern California that were armed to the teeth, it was like "hey man, peace, but if not, I got this radical rifle right here ready to go, and three more in the van.."

They even had the beads, and the tie dye shirts, VW Van, with the surfboards, and the automatic rifles.

My father was taken aback, the old beatnik from the 60's was shocked, so he says to them, "hey man, what's with the guns?" and the hippie looks at him sort of suspicious like and says "freedom, maaan.."

After that they kept giving my dad dirty looks, like they thought he was a cop.
