Ok, your language is confusing. You makes him sound like a moderate he is not, he's an extremist.

Speaker to Animals wrote: Not really. Nobody really wants to discuss it because the reasons for it cut deep into both sides of the current political spectrum. It's all too easy for the shitlibs to demand we pass more gun control laws, as if people can't build bombs or drive trucks into kids too. It's all too easy for the neocons to talk about locking schools down with a squad of armed veterans and teachers, as if that's the kind of society we really want to live in.

Everybody wants to blame somebody -- except themselves.
Actually I agree with you...

This cuts on both sides of the spectrum.

Conservatives at least have some culture to offer the solution.

Unfortunately that culture is pretty weak...

Puritan Christianity had thrown almost all the accumulated western culture out for individualistic bible study and workaholism....

The rest of American culture is actually borrowed from various other cultures... other than a love of liberty, guns and commerce... not a whole lot there to build communities around.

The liberal side is even weaker... the state can't solve these problems, it only waters everything down in bureaucracy and institutional apathy...
And cutting down our own culture and idealizing other cultures isn't going to get us anywhere.

I can totally understand feeling pessimistic and ornery about the whole situation.

But that won't really help either.

Like Peterson says, revive the Logos. That's Western culture.

Read this piece. Then consider just how low our expectations are for our government school system, other than keeping the dollars flowing unabated to the trough.

Parkland shooter always in trouble, never expelled. Could school system have done more?
Long before Cruz carried an AR-15 assault rifle into Stoneman Douglas and carried out one of the worst school shootings in U.S. history, the awkward, socially isolated youth puzzled, disrupted and sometimes terrified his schoolmates.

Broward County school administrators say they do all they can to offer a traditional education to youngsters whose mental illness or behavioral disorders leave them at risk for upheaval or violence, and provide therapeutic services to help them improve. School leaders are equally obligated, they say, to protect others around them.

“Every student is Broward County is entitled to a free and appropriate education. If there are certain areas where that can’t be done, we need to make sure those students are given a place that is the least restrictive environment for their ability and they can thrive,” said Broward School Board chair Nora Rupert. “You also want everybody to have safety.”

Expelling Cruz from the Broward school system altogether was never an option, and what little is known of the teen’s educational history illustrates the sharp limitations that confront school administrators who must deal with profoundly troubled students.
Tax dollars at work.

Wikipedia wrote:Logos (UK: /ˈloʊɡɒs, ˈlɒɡɒs/, US: /ˈloʊɡoʊs/; Ancient Greek: λόγος, from λέγω lego "I say") is a term in western philosophy, psychology, rhetoric, and religion derived from a Greek word meaning "ground", "plea", "opinion", "expectation", "word", "speech", "account", "reason", "proportion", "discourse",[1][2] but it became a technical term in philosophy beginning with Heraclitus (c. 535–475 BC), who used the term for a principle of order and knowledge.[3] Logos is the logic behind an argument.[4] Logos tries to persuade an audience using logical arguments and supportive evidence. Logos is a persuasive technique often used in writing and rhetoric.

Ancient Greek philosophers used the term in different ways. The sophists used the term to mean discourse, and Aristotle applied the term to refer to "reasoned discourse"[5] or "the argument" in the field of rhetoric.[6] The Stoic philosophers identified the term with the divine animating principle pervading the Universe. Under Hellenistic Judaism, Philo (c. 20 BC – 50 AD) adopted the term into Jewish philosophy.[7] The Gospel of John identifies the Logos, through which all things are made, as divine (theos),[8] and further identifies Jesus Christ as the incarnate Logos. The term is also used in Sufism, and the analytical psychology of Carl Jung.

Despite the conventional translation as "word", it is not used for a word in the grammatical sense; instead, the term lexis (λέξις) was used.[9]
However, both logos and lexis derive from the same verb legō (λέγω), meaning "count, tell, say, speak".[1][9][10]

A term so broad as to be effectively meaningless...

How exactly to revive the logos?

According to the Stoics "the divine animating principle pervading the universe"...

So God then... well we've tried that before... a bit of a broad concept... where to start... Which God exactly?

Any chance we can work a deal on abridging each others rights?
Like ... we’ll accept some limitations to our 2nd if you take some limitations to your 1st? We’ll raise the AR-15 age to 21 if you accept using the phrase “white privilege” being classified as a misdemeanor offense?

I’m just trying to get a little something back, since we’ve decided having rights is too damn difficult.

Mandatory (free) gym. All weak males must report to gym formation by 1800 hours MWF. Chicks need their own gyms. Take all that cardio equipment with them. Free up the squat racks from gym thots doing lunges every other day to build bubble butts.

I am not kidding either. Making males stronger again would shut this shit show down for good.

All fat females need to report to the chick gym to learn how to diet and increase their attractiveness so they no longer feel the need for feminism (affirmative action for undesirable women). Over a certain fat percentage, mandatory meal plans. No eating outside of the meal plan.

Then we can raise the gun ownership age to 21.
