Nobody wants to discuss the actual problems. It's too easy to ban a gun.

We've discussed these problems...

But I haven't heard any really bright ideas about what to do about them.

One community at a time... boots on the ground... start getting together...

Turn off the smartphones... neighborhood bbqs. Stop moving around all the time look for greener grass on the other side of town or the country...

Loyalty to place, people, local culture... stop blaming, start connecting.

We are a long way off from any of this.

Not really. Nobody really wants to discuss it because the reasons for it cut deep into both sides of the current political spectrum. It's all too easy for the shitlibs to demand we pass more gun control laws, as if people can't build bombs or drive trucks into kids too. It's all too easy for the neocons to talk about locking schools down with a squad of armed veterans and teachers, as if that's the kind of society we really want to live in.

Meanwhile, everybody engages in social shaming and isolation of people who don't see eye-to-eye with them. It's perfectly fine to destroy a man's livelihood and alienate him from the rest of society because he doesn't support the latest zeitgeist on fucking other men in the ass. I mean.. who's kids do you think are alienating the boys who end becoming school shooters? Does anybody give a shit until that day these kids snap and kill? Where were the do-nothing government school teachers while this was happening? Where were all the parents?

This whole debate really disgusts me on a number of levels. I think we all need to look in the mirror on this one.

Communities are disintegrating because we don't even have a national identity now. We are just a collection of totally different cultures and races, and nobody trusts anybody. We have already seen from research that diversity results in low-trust communities where social bonds break down.

And don't pretend like broken homes don't play a role here. Who supported no-fault divorce, feminism, and all the degeneracy that led to this? Again: we all need to look in the damned mirror rather than point fingers.

Everybody wants to blame somebody -- except themselves.
