I guess grumps is still reading up on how the USDA farm size categories work.
He should be back with an actual argument any minute now.

I was just enjoying the thread, actually.Okeefenokee wrote:I guess grumps is still reading up on how the USDA farm size categories work.

You jumped in with your absurd government statistics, to show that farming is alive and well in America, because '90% of farming is done by small-family farms', then proceeded to faceplant all over the thread, as I ass-pounded some information into you. Now you're wheeling about, with no idea what happened, and trying to claim victory.
Sure, dude. American agriculture is just fine. Roll with it.

Here is the deal I'm willing to make: The Daralon comedy tour begins when the Jedi Price Reduction/Wage debate gets televised. Both of us will have to face the unwashed masses. I will use the jokes on this thread to make them laugh, and you will use the arguments on this thread to convince them to your viewpoint. I guess telling jokes online is a waste of time unless you become a comedian, but arguing about economic policies that you have no control over and barely understand isn't a waste of time if you don't write a treatise or run for office.
I'm sorry you hate your job dude (I hate mine), but that doesn't mean that I am a harder worker or more entitled to money than the others on here. Also cheap milk. That is this thread in a nutshell. I think you've made a similar thread before using the same arguments that got shut down.

How bout this, I do an open mic, you do an open mic. I have some material I've been working on a bit that I can dust off.heydaralon wrote:jediuser598 wrote:Daralon, go do some open mics. You seem to me, dedicated to entertaining people. Ever been up there? Telling jokes to a crowd?

I'm flattered that you are amused by my posts Monte. You are about 1 of 3 people on here who is, which makes you part of an elite club by default. I don't think a comedian would be a good gig for me, or anyone for that matter. Just watching the show Louie and listening to Joe Rogan experience makes that whole subculture seem pretty hardscrabble and grimy. You have to have a major hustle to get something like that off the ground. Its never been something I wanted. I think there are two kinds of humor for comedy:Montegriffo wrote:I don't know, these people sit in their mums basement playing video games, they come up with one joke and want to retire for life...
Won't even tell his friends the joke 'cos he doesn't trust them not to steal it. What a douche.
1) Deconstructive humor:
This generally involves taking things other people have put out and adding some snarky shit on it or just sarcastically restating what someone else said.
This is generally what I do.
2) Constructive humor:
This generally involves building something out of scratch. For instance, writing the script for a comedy pilot, or a funny movie.
Obviously, the second kind is far harder. That is something I could never do. The first one is something that everyone can do quite easily. and usually does on a regular basis. Its not a small distinction.
If you have the balls to perform in front of people, be it telling jokes, or juggling my hat goes off to you. I could never do that for many reasons, rote memorization or not.

Wal-Mart was quick to make a media splash with the news that it was raising the starting hourly wages to $11/hour, expanding employee benefits and offering worker bonuses of up to $1000 in response to the Trump tax cuts; it was far more covert, however, with the news that on the very same day it was also closing hundreds of Sam's Club stores nationwide and laying off thousands of workers according to numerous media reports.

Sam's Club is a bust, it's not profitable, Costco is crushing them, they're just cutting dead weight there.
Walmart is doing quite well overall, but in that market, Costco is dominant, Sam's Club is not worth the effort, Walmart will probably get a bump by dumping Sam's Club.

That quote of mine was actually aimed at DB not you but I couldn't get him to bite( or tell us his fucking joke).heydaralon wrote:I'm flattered that you are amused by my posts Monte. Standing in front of an audience and making them laugh is a real buzz, I can see how performers get addicted to it but it is terrifying at the same time. It's like anything though, the more you do it the easier it gets.
The real skill is in the preparation, if you put the work into that then the performance is a lot easier.
Anyway, keep up the good work, I think you'll find more people appreciate it than you think.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
