Just watching the Marlies right now, AHL playoff interlude.
I think Rasmus Sandin is coming sooner rather than later.
He's definitely got top four D hockey IQ.
He's not big, but he's actually got bite, he doesn't back down.
But his ability to read plays in the defensive zone and break them up is elite.
He's not super fast, but his ability to move and control the puck is elite.
And he's competitive, he wants to be a star, he has elite player self confidence.
He's the internal replacement for Jake Gardiner and he's not that far away.

Moreover, the Leafs don't really need a Joe Moreno as much as they need a Jake Gardiner replacement.
So Dubas was right all along.

Semyon Der-Arguchintzev promoted from the O to the ECHL playoffs with the Growlers.
SDA is another sleeper pick mehopes.
More of a longer term project, but if the cake bakes could turn out to be poor man's Marner.
This is another reason why the Leafs should trade some skilled Hobbits.
They've got more coming in the pipeline, Bracco, Brooks, Tymashov and SDA.
Bracco is NHL ready right now, leading the Marlies in scoring;

Sunshine State Warriors looking like the Blackhawks who got swept by the Preds, hilarious. Down 2-0 heading into the third, on the verge of being down 3-0 in the series.

Curse of the President's Trophy I said.
Sunshine State Warriors pulling a Loafs against the bigger heavier team.
