Yup, he's working on a routine in public. Only trouble is this is a harsh crowd and 's are a rare commodity around here so feedback for him is poor.
Sooner or later you have to write down what you think the best stuff is and find an open mic...

I'm not beefing, I'm in my office, I'm making money, you people here are just my "co-workers" in effect, you keep me entertained, but most of Daralon's stuff is a scroll past, infinitely less interesting than just talking hockey with St.Capps of Steeltown.

Word.

It's like yeah, I can tell jokes to my co-workers (even pre-empt them with hey, I got a new joke) and make them laugh, but until you're up there, that's the next level. And if it starts paying, man that's awesome, can't start getting paid for it til one goes out there and sees if it's worth anything.

There's this thing called Roll20, you play on the internet. Rates look something like this: "$10 per player per session, or $30 per month" Here's the description:

Milennials can get paid to do what I did for free in college and they’re still wailing about the job market.

Three months later they’re making bank off a slightly modified version of your material.

Selling jokes most definately is a job. Thing is, if your joke is good enough I'm going to want to buy it up before one of my competition does. If you can keep them coming at a high standard I might even pay you a regular fee just to give me first choice on your new material.
You'll probably get a bit more on top if your jokes end up on the DVD of my sell out tour.

Amy Schumer would probably steal some his material.

The thing about plagiarizing on the open market is, eventually you're going to get caught, and those people are going to run out of material if they don't keep plagiarizing, whereas the genuine person can always come up with new material.

Tell you what tho, I don't just recommend that people join the armed forces because I believe it to be the noble profession of arms, it's the best gig going, for early retirement, fully indexed pension from the Crown as your baseline revenue stream, if you join at 17, it's freedom 39, courtesy of Her Majesty the Queen, God save her.

Well ... that doesn’t help me when I’ve come up with 1.5 professional level jokes.

If I had 30+ pro jokes with a plan to come up with more, I guess that model might be useful.

DB, go DM for some techies, they're all nerdy. This guy is making 70 bucks a session every thursday, and probably having a blast doing so, while working from home:
https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/9025 ... e-of-chaos

We've had this game going for a couple months and it's good fun. We want to open up two slots to help round out the group on weeks some people can't make it. I'm looking for someone willing to make a weekly pledge of $10 and the guys are hoping for someone that'll play a wizard, sorcerer, bard, or blast cleric to help out with some arcane crowd control. We're fifth level, mostly good aligned, and presently in a dungeon on a rescue mission in the abyss.

I’m committed to completing the campaign, which I don’t expect to end before 20th level. I run the game every Thursday night from 6:30 to around 11pm Eastern time. I like to plan breaks every couple of weeks (usually once a month or two).

Why $10? Because it’s worth it. We go on adventures, have fun, and it happens every week at the same time. Ongoing player contributions allow me to say with confidence, “I could do this forever”. It allows me to plan my circumstances around doing this game rather than trying to fit the game into my circumstances.
